SIE aims to achieve robust revenue growth by accelerating the virtuous cycle that has been established for the PlayStation Platform. This entails increasing active users and play time, enhancing network services and reinforcing content IP so that consumers select PlayStation as their platform of choice.

Targeted outcomes include growth in active users, stronger retention and a shorter cash conversion cycle, from which expanded cash flow can be expected.
We will explore expanding our 1st party titles to the PC platform, in order to promote further growth in our profitability.

Releasing older titles is fine, doing it on the same day as console launch makes no sense if you want your console to succeed. I could see MP only games maybe doing launch day as long as they are able to monetize them in some way on PC.

Like TLOU2 MP?

Im willing to bet that TLOU2 MP comes to PC on release or shortly there after. We pretty much already know it's coming to PC as ND had jobs listed looking for people familiar with CUDA and GCN.

I say a 1.5-2+ year gap IF SONY made PS5 games come.
As of now it's older PS4 titles and Sony has showed no indication that its anything but that.

The eventual goal will be for launch day (not my words, this is what I’ve heard recently). They are basically following what MS did.

HZD is a big success on PC. GOW will be coming soon, and after that sells millions, just watch the time from console to PC shrink. How fast does that happen? Who knows. But it’s coming. $$$$$

Is HZD that much of a success? It's already out of the top 10 charts on steam.

Especially makes sense if it ends up being a battle royale

No they are reselling old games.

No they are reselling old games.

Only for now. I’m not saying the shift will be tomorrow, But it’s coming.

And I think the PS5 will make it happen faster. While it will sell a ton, it sounds like they might be selling it at a loss for awhile.

Money is always made in the games.

Yes, because it’s sold very well. But we also have to keep in mind that this isn’t like a game they developed from the ground up for PC.

Consider how much time and money it really takes to be ported to PC, versus the resources required to make a new game, plus the fact that it’s on Steam, so it doesn’t require shipping, physical media, etc.

That’s the beauty of it really. Far less resources involved to expand the game to a massive new user base. I think it’s just easier for MS to do because of the software involved.

Not agreeing and again Sony has shown no intentions of doing anymore than milking older titles on the PC.

Plus if it was say the new Horizon FW.. The port would be gimped on the PC so it makes even less sense.

You know, I’m ok if any Sony game or really any game in general releasing on pc is released anywhere from six months to a year afterwards if it means there’s less issues. Forza, HZD, Nier have had serious issues upon release and some still do. Frick even Flight Simulator even has some pressing issues.

Sony has plenty of older titles to bring to PC before they ever think of trying to do day and date launch on PC, they depend on selling consoles more than MS does also MP going to PC day and date makes more sense if they work some kind of continuous monetization or microtransactions into it otherwise it's not likely going to be a big deal for them, with console players they get PS plus subs with PC they'd get a discount sale of an MP game and that's it.

Correct and with subpar sales of Horizon ZD on PC they won't.

Expect a bunch of PS4 games instead.

what if Sony makes PlayStation store/launcher...they’d make way more money that way then even their own store on PlayStation, I could be wrong. But I wonder how they feel selling their games through a third party, they should’ve sold it through epic unless there’s some conflict of interest there.

Indeed, Sony will be putting them on PC sooner than later. I remember back when they never would. Thanks to PS Now and competition, PC is getting a ton of love.

Horizon Zero Dawn’s PC launch sales ‘were nearly as large as The Witcher 3’s’
GUERRILLA’S GAME WAS ALSO UP 50% ON DEATH STRANDING, ACCORDING TO RESEARCH FIRM
