Official Thread Playstation VR

What wires? the whole damn thing has about 5-6 wires, a wireless headset would be great.

I guess I'm just used to it. Other than the hookup, it's the double wire that's attached to the headset is all I bother with. Of those 5 or 6 you're talking about, most you shouldn't have to deal with during a play session.

The tactical first-person VR shooter Firewall: Zero Hour contains some of the most immersive and tactical gameplay found on the market.

Firewall: Zero Hour, developed by First Contact Entertainment, is one of the coolest experiences I have ever had while playing a video game and is a bona fide PSVR seller despite some fixable issues.

Firewall: Zero Hour is one of those games that you show your friends if they want to see what virtual reality is all about. It wraps everything that VR has to offer up perfectly. Having the ability to put the player in the world created can be such an immersive experience, but this title goes above and beyond that by creating some of the best gameplay VR has to offer. I can guarantee that this game can sell more PS VR units if you just get people to try the game. Despite some frustrating issues that I can assume will be fixed with a patch in the future, Firewall: Zero Hour is one of the best VR games on the market, and everyone should play it.

For once, even PC gamers have to give to this game. It's easily the best shooter you can play in VR and the closest you can possibly feel to handling a weapon in a videogame. The disparity between a controller and VR weapons is incredibly vast, a controller feels like child's play as does a mouse.

I posted this in the TGS thread, but it needs to be here as well.

Getting another horror game that's already on PC. It has great reviews on steam. I have no doubt it'll be absolutely terrifying in VR.

Farpoint kinda surprises me at #1 actually. Top 5 i can see but then again it makes a great use of the technology. Astrobot is coming for that #1 spot, fast. Lots of hype.

Borderlands 2 VR annaounced for PSVR!

  • Virtually Step onto Pandora: Step into the boots of a treasure-seeking Vault Hunter armed with 87 bazillion possible guns on a quest to line your pockets with loot and free Pandora from Handsome Jack’s clutches. Blast bandits with real-world aiming, punch bullymongs in the mouth, find the perfect gun inside a life-sized treasure chest and inspect it from every angle. Catch-a-Ride and race across Pandora in first-person view and experience the thrill of a psycho running toward youwith grenade in-hand yelling, “Boom time!”

  • Virtually Slow Time: Borderlands 2 VR includes new features unique to the VR experience to empower Vault Hunters in their fight against Handsome Jack. With Bad Ass Mega Fun Time (aka BAMF Time), players can use this new slow-mo ability to literally slow the speed of the game temporarily to set up their next attack. In addition, with the option to Teleport, players can glide across Pandora as gracefully as Claptrap (if he had grace).

  • Become a Virtual Vault Hunter: Take on the role of one of four playable classes – Siren, Commando, Gunzerker and Assassin – each with unique combat styles and updated skills that leverage the new VR functionality, including the new BAMF Time ability. Whether crushing enemies with Maya’s Siren powers, calling in Sabre Turret reinforcements as Axton, feeling the heft of dual-wielded machine guns as Salvador, or the satisfying swing of Zer0’s sword in an enemy’s back, Borderlands 2 VR immerses players like never before.

  • Experience Virtual Improvements: For the first time ever, players can experience the sublime exhilaration of driving around the Borderlands in first-person perspective – accelerating and steering with the joystick and aiming the vehicle’s weapons with their headset. With the use of the motion controllers and headset, players can interact with the menu systems in a new and intuitive way for the platform, easily navigating through the menus by pointing, clicking, dragging and dropping. Players will also have the choice of preferred movement styles. Whether that’s the VR popular pointed-teleportation, or the classic direct movement style with joysticks – your experience should feel good for VR and true to form of classic Borderlands.

  • Get Virtually Rich: Borderlands VR brings shoot-and-loot mechanics to VR with bazillions of procedurally-generated guns and gear, each with their own capabilities and modifiers. Procedurally-generated shields, grenades, relics, class mods and more round out your Vault Hunter’s arsenal for maximum power and mayhem.

Forgot to mention the release date: Dec 18th this year.

The bullet time feature could be really interesting, stuff like that feels gimmicky without VR but if they can implement something remotely close to Superhot it could be a game changer.

I still cant believe Sony hasn't released better, specifically made controllers for PSVR alla the Rift or Vive. That extra layer of virtual presence is pretty important to making it different. The old move controllers are inadequate but still better than using a traditional controller, imo...

Have you tried it? Not as good as the Vive controllers, but it feels pretty damn good after the patches.

A while ago. Played though all the fr started demo games and the x-wing one along with the resident Evil vr demo. I also played the Until Dawn shooter. The hand manipulation is bare bones from what I played but I'm sure they have patched out many of the tracking issues. I really want one, but will wait for a newer iteration. I also don't have a Pro (I played it on pro though), so I worry the experience won't be so good.

Yeah the Pro make a big difference but not on all games.

Top games so far for PSVR, are RE7 and AstroBot by a mile! Hmm, both games are played with a PS4 controller and not the Move controllers, which are necessary for most VR games.

Yeah, I'm just going to say that Move controllers are old and broken. They have no business being in modern gaming, IMO.

...on a side note, AstroBot might be the best VR game I've ever played!

Not necessarily necessary for VR, obviously, but I remember playing the Re7 demo and thinking how much more immersive it would be if you could handle objects like you would in real life, and is a huge part of what makes VR amazing.
