I mean, they came with content, which IMO, content IS king, but still... 1080p res, PS3 Move controller technology, no thumbsticks. The Quest 1 was a slightly better experience, and Quest 2 absolutely blows it out of the water. I've owned all 3, btw. I know thosse are newer devices, but PSVR 2 absolutely needs to be made more future-proof! It NOT being wireless is NOT a good start, IMO. I'm sure that the specs aren't yet final, so hopefully it's something they are looking at.

I prefer the price, ease of use and brand of the Sony VR.

OK.

I'm not going to tell you your wrong, but "ease" seems a lil weird since it has multiple cables, no guardian system, and no inside out tracking, but that's from someone who has used multiple VR experiences. The game has been changed in ways that only someone with Quest experience can understand. I take my Quest on vacation in a travel case, and have never done that with a console... It's not even close to the same generation of overall ease and overall experience, IMO... I'm not here to sh!t on PSVR, but I'm not going to sugar coat it either.

The Quest is 299. Do you think the Sony VR headset is going to be cheaper than 299?
I bought my PSVR for $300, but then had to buy a camera and Move controllers separately. Quest 2 is an insane deal! Of course, I understand how being anti-FB might stop ppl, but like I said, it's like a whole generation experience better, and it's portable! I know that PSVR can be found much cheaper now, but it's not really close in experience.

That said, I'm still looking forward to Sony backing the VR industry again.

The PS5 and VR2 combo will be much cheaper than a Quest/PC equivalent.

With more ease of use.

I confused the models.

So, since you aren't familiar, Quest 2 is fully self-contained device. It uses its own internal tracking sensors, and has its own processor built into the device. It is completely wireless, and costs $300 for the entire package. No PC needed. It also has a completely 3D interface (unlike PSVR) and a guardian system which remembers your play space, and you can see these virtual boarders around your walls and furniture while in a game or in the dash/lobby. It's independent at a system level. Quest 1 guardian:

It also does allow for PC tethering through a single USB-C "Link" cable, but that is a secondary feature for most users, IMO. Guardian still works through Link, BTW. There is even a supposedly good wireless option (I've heard that quality is even better), but requires sideloading Virtual Desktop, which is actually VERY easy. I don't currently own a PC that can handle anything, so I cannot comment.

I'm just going to come out and say that if Sony does not plan on PSVR2 to be a stand-alone device that also links to PS5, they will have missed a great opportunity to include a MUCH larger userbase!

Very glad to hear Sony are actually going ahead with PSVR2. I was starting to think they’d quietly dropped it tbh. Anyway, back on board the hype train. Wholeheartedly agree with GordoSan that Sony should go for a wireless approach that can be tethered to a PS5 for the graphically intense games.

I just sold my PSVR to get the most out of it prior to the PSVR2. With fewer wires and higher fidelity it could be truly amazing. I'm hoping it can increase the fidelity of older games as well, such as RE7.

Huge PSVR game sale going on right now on PSN, tons of great prices and rarely discounted games. I’ve picked up 10 games so far lol

I never had a problem with the cord with the first PSVR so if PSVR2 isn't wireless it really doesn't phase me. Having a high quality display and lag free tracking is far more prominent to me.

I didn't really have much issue with the cords on PSVR, however, after having used a Quest/Quest 2 for a year, I am not so excited to go back to bulky cables.

That said, with completely next gen, (hopefully) AA to AAA VR games, we will max out battery life pretty quickly, with longer game experiences. I think that a single strand USB-C cable will probably be the new norm for both wireless (play while charging) and wired headsets, going forward.

No love for these? I think they're sexy AF!

I love this new transparency about PSVR2! If Xbox wants to keep ghosting VR, they are going to look like fools when they decide to jump in late in the game, just like with Windows Phone. It won't matter how good it is, at a certain point.

Probably the nicest looking VR controllers I’ve seen to date. Look forward to trying them out.
I worry about the way it encircles the wrist. That could get very annoying. I've got a quest and a quest 2 and the circles stay out of the way.

Knuckle straps should be standard as well for any VR platform. There is zero excuse for not doing Inside-out tracking, imo- its nice to hear Sony is doing that.
