BY MICHAEL MARTINFirst-person puzzle game Pneuma: Breath of Life is coming to Xbox One as a timed exclusive on February 27, co-developers Deco Digital and Bevel Studios announced.

Pneuma’s exclusivity is limited to just 30 days, but it is live on Steam Greenlightwith a PC release coming “as soon as possible” the developers said in a statement. The developers also revealed plans for Pneuma to include Oculus Rift DK2 support with the Steam release.

Game looks like it has all the tech features -- dynamic screen space reflections, excellent global illumination, and Physically Based shaders are a few of the more important features I can see right away in that video.

Finally an Unreal Engine 4 game that competes with today's games and it's an Indie game at that! I guess Val spoke too soon about "the best looking exclusives only showing on PS4". ;)

Holy crap that looks amazing, and fun as hell. I WANT that game!! WHEN WHEN WHEN?? Probably the best looking game graphically I have seen yet on console.

It just seems like a puzzle game. I don't think I could get into this off of what I know right now.

Interesting. But MS needs to invest in THEIR games, not buy timed exclusives.

Looks very nice but I'd expect that when there is really nothing happening on screen, that's probably also PC footage. I'm not saying the X1 version doesn't look like that but it seems 9 times out of 10 when a game is coming to console and PC we see PC footage. If it were X1 footage I think it would have said so in the video. Also it sounds like that exclusivity is only 30 days and the website for the game has "others TBA" under platforms so it could end up on PS4 as well.

It very well could. But the fact remains, it looks incredible -- to the point where it will most certainly rival the other exclusives coming out this year (i.e. The Order, Quantum Break, UC4).

Don't see much interesting from the game. Is it like creating a world or something?

Will check for more new/videos when it gets closer to release date.

Well, that doesn't come across as defensive, lol. I'm not seeing any rendering techniques that couldn't be done on X1. Did anyone say it was X1 footage? I see people saying it looks great, and am interested why you felt the need to point that out.

On that note, th0ugh, I don't see why the X1 version wouldn't look like that in all but maybe resolution.

Why would someone have to say it was X1 footage for me to say that? I wasn't trying to debate anyone I was just giving my opinion. As far as why I said it, I said it simply because Devs have taken to showing PC footage a lot more lately when a game is coming to console and PC that's all. I even said that the X1 version may well look like that so I wasn't downplaying the console's ability just giving my opinion on how games have been marketed lately.

BTW it's funny that looks really nice in the video trailer but if you go to the site and look at the screens for some reason the game doesn't look quite as good, the trees look like crap etc. I know it's just an indie puzzle game but I just find it strange that the pics and the video kind of don't match each other in quality.

I wouldn't go that far lol. There is very little actually happening in this game.

Just because you don't see combat and a bunch of characters on screen don't mean it's not doing much. I see the real GI and there isn't a game that matches it accept for the Tomorrow Children. I've also not seen any dynamic screen space reflections before like this game. Most games out just reflect static objects (DC being an exception). The materials are on par with AC:Unity materials (which also had static environments) -- and of course, destroy any PBR material in say, Infamous SS or DriveClub.

Basically I give credit where it is due. If you tell me to make a game with very little action and lots of puzzles, but put any 3D affect in there.. I'm going to make it rival or exceed the best looking games out there due to the expanded resources.

Regardless of whether you downplay that it doesn't have much on screen going on.. it's doing features that we want to see in those game that *Do* have stuff going on and can't because of the limitations of platform not being able to accomplish it.

Portal was one of those "lol indie puzzle games". One of the most original and beloved games last gen.

I'm not ready to write this one off yet.

I think it looks good. Hopefully they can keep the gameplay and puzzles interesting.

Looks very basic, static back drops and simple geometry is not what I call amazing. Like someone pointed out, there isn't much going on. I don't see how anyone can even remotely call this amazing graphically.

Show me a game that looks that good but actually has something going on and I'll agree with you, I would never try to classify it with other games that actually have to worry about things like showing character models etc. If you want to call it the best looking puzzle game I'd go along with that.

It's like I've said before.. everyone is going to have their own criteria on what is the best looking game. A lot of PS4 fans think DC is the best because of it's day/night cycle and weather/rain droplets -- ignoring the lack of texture detail on the road and car materials.. Others like MGS5 as the best graphics because it's open world and running at 60fps but doesn't have PBR or rain simulations like DC. Others like the photoreal color palette like in The Order which makes it look like a movie even though it's filled with QTEs, black bars, and film grain all over the place.

We won't find a game that has it all. But that doesn't mean we should write off others opinions. If we keep coming up with "well it's not open world, or it's not running at 60fps, or it's in 3rd person, it has black bars, etc.." we are doing just that.

Looks like it could be great. Either way, another X1 game, not on PS4. That amazing Xbox One library continues to grow every day.

Have you ladies seen the rain in DC yet?
