Pre-Order Bonus' for Day One Digital Downloads?

I'm interested in this as well. I would think with their interest in a more digital future, that at some point we would be able to get preorder bonuses for digital releases.
 
There's no real reason to ever pre-order a DD game so I'm assuming there really wont be any and they have to keep retailers happy. Maybe a few weeks or months after pre-order bonuses like maps and outfits and stuff will be available for DD'ers?
 
Sorry, misunderstood your comment. I think it was addressed on the ign Ask MS Anything and they said it will happen butafter launch. I wanted to buy BF4 digitally but have to buy the disk for pre order bonus.
 
Pretty sure I read DD's come with any Day One content if you download them within the first week?
 
I'm going strict digital, but to gain access to Destiny's Beta; I pre-ordered from Amazon. I'll probably cancel my pre-order and get it digitally when it launches on XB1.

Yeah I read somewhere that if you download the game within 2 weeks of launch you'll get the preorder bonus. Saw that a couple of weeks back.
 
I'm sure MS will have some pre-order stuff like Steam has that's digital. Maps, characters, bonus items. For now, I would use Steam as the standard for pre-ordering stuff digitally.

There's no way to pre-order Destiny through XBox, so I went the Amazon route for now. Like I said, I'll cancel it down the road.
 
I wonder if retailers like Amazon could just have codes that you can preorder that you enter and it downloads the game. Would be a way to add pre order bonuses.
 
I don't see how they could do it for launch since you won't have the system to actually pre order the games. I guess stores could offer digital codes for the full game and then you would just get the normal pre order bonus.
 
There will have to be clever remedies for those of us going strictly digital this gen. They'll have to provide the same bonus content and in game items that the retail pre-orders receive.

Also pre-ordering would allow an earlier download to take some of the pressure off the servers from a midnight rush to install a new release. The DD gamer would only need to get his/her copy authorized to begin playing as soon as the clock strikes 12am.

Nice. That sounds like a reasonable way to handle it for now. I'm going all digital with the X1, and remember reading that they would be sure to take care of those people. It's definitely in their best interests, since they want us all to make that shift ASAP anyway.
