Prey - Yes, Another Predator Movie! August 5, 2022

Swede is woke confirmed for liking this movie. 😉😉

But yeah this movie kicked ass and I was very happy with how it turned out. Had no expectations but I love a Predator flick.
For it having a woman lead? Maybe...
For it having an Indian lead...? Well... considering the amerika still keeps treating Indians like dirt, I'd say it's prob better to vote for some politician that could change things in the real world, maybe give them some of their land back etc.
I do not feel they bitch much about their lot in life though, so maybe it's up to some young, white, mixed women too scream loud enough to make a change idk

Movie is great though and I love to read about the old west and this movie seems very accurate in terms of how they had to fight off alien warriors that hunt them down with laser sights and out of this world weaponry.

I enjoyed it, but would only rank it above The Predator of the 5 Predator films. Definitely not a "masterpiece" or "better than the original" like some insane reviewers are claiming.

Probably won't bother most, but there were some absolutely absurd hunting scenes. Very much felt like it was written and directed by people who've never spent time in the outdoors. Also, why does a film taking place in the "Great Plains" have so many mountains, pine forests, marshes, etc.?
Better than the original? What crack smoking 9 year old is saying that?

It is better than most of the Predator movies to be sure, but lets face it, that isn't really saying much.

My issue with it is they only ever show her being a terrible hunter and then her first success is a Predator(That destroyed everything and everyone it fought)who became so dumb he stopped and pulled a stupid face when he saw his mask/helmet thingy. Not too much how the plant works instantly, doesn't need time to digest, absorb, and get carried around the body like every other substance know to man. You could have junky fed it in to your vein and it wouldn't work that quick. I mean WTF.

Just too much absurdity, and there didn't need to be.

Why not show her being good at hunting, then go through the "observing and learning" phase, and then have her actually prepare and hunt it. You cut out 90% of the dumb crap.

The beginning does establish her as having skills and being resourceful and she doesn't defeat Predator single handedly but I do think it would have been better if she went on more of a journey similar to what you are saying.

She has skills of a tracker and medicine.

Who helped her kill the Predator? Everybody else was dead.

They show her at the beginning using the tomahawk

Her brother did before he died
Her brother did, you're right, riding his horse.

The tomahawk.she fails with nigh on every time until the end? Did she even ever throw it at the Predator?

The newly released movie “Prey” has been the talk of the town in the entertainment industry because of how critically acclaimed it was.

Recently in an interview, Prey’s director Dan Trachtenberg revealed how the protagonist’s and antagonist’s gear were directly influenced by Sony Santa Monica’s God of War, and how excited he is for the sequel, God of War Ragnarok to launch.

This was revealed in a recent interview with CassiusLife, where the Dan Trachtenberg confirmed that the Predator’s shield in the film and Naru’s tomahawk were both inspired by the God of War 2018 video game.

Trachtenberg also mentioned that he’s “extremely” excited for God of War Ragnarok, too.

Dan Trachtenberg states:

“The answer is extremely…It was the Predator’s shield (that was inspired by Kratos’ shield) and it was her (Naru’s) tomahawk that she makes (that was inspired by Kratos’ axe), because she throws it and pulls it back, it was very much inspired by that game (God of War).”

Caught it over the weekend and thought it was pretty enjoyable, thought the girl could've been a little older but did a great job. First acting role ever for the brother and thought he did good too.
