Activision owned the rights to Spider-Man in games until 2014 according to the digital foundry Spider-Man breakdown video.

Makes sense. I would assume the Spider-Man PS4 development started following the release of Sunset Overdrive, so probably within the last 2-3 months of 2014.

Supposedly the Spider-Man game was in the works in 2014 before Spider-Man/MCU deal was actually made.

It's probably as simple as Sony actually seeing the uptake in the comic market and contacting Marvel to get something going; Marvel actually let Insomniac pick any character they wanted to use, they are the ones who chose to make a Spider-Man game.

Marvel went to Sony. Sony went to Insomniac. Insomniac chose Spiderman

Sony own the rights to Spider-Man movies they produce. Don’t know the technicality to Homecoming, since they distributed it.

Same goes for Spider-Man games based upon movies they produced. But then how did Activison get to make games for said movies last gen?

There may be some conspiracy and internal favoritism between the two, conflict of interest perhaps. Since one guy at marvel once worked for Sony and was roommates with some higher up at Sony as well. I forget the details but it’s out there *plays x-files music*

They probably just wanted make bigger and better games. Same way you ended up with Crystal Dynamics making an Avengers game

I can see they wanted “bigger and better” but why have a middle man and not just go straight to Insomniac?

Or why didn’t Sony pick one of their own devs to make it happen? They could have kept that game on lockdown, yo.

My guess is Marvel didn’t want to pay up much to fund it, seeing it as a risk. They got Sony to find it in hopes of spreading their FP magic but instead they, Sony, went with a TP cos they feel like they’re just the third wheel and the next Spider-Man game might go multi platform, like Titanfall.

Because Marvel isn't a games publisher. They wanted Sony to treat it like a first party game which they did.

I would assume they have it on just as much of a lockdown. Sony probably made a deal for X number of games so in that sense it doesn't matter. As for why Insomniac it would be because they were the best fit or Sony's studios were all tied up or Sony just didn't want their studios working on an IP they don't own

Titanfall didn't change publishers though. EA just made an exclusive deal with Microsoft.

I keep forgetting that the Avengers game is in the works.

Are there any other titles besides Spider-Man and Avengers flying around the rumor-mill?

Not sure of any that we have heard about.

Marvel vs Capcom happened but everyone involved now pretends it didn't.

True, but that’s just my conspiracy theory.

Xbox One Has Fastest Growth Rate Out of All Consoles In the UK Over the Past Year, According to Retailer

Microsoft’s console continues its strong commercial growth even in the UK.

Xbox-One-X.jpg

Ever since the launch of the Xbox One X in November last year, Microsoft console has seen something of a resurgence in terms of sales and popularity. Not only has it seen year on year growth in the US in both July and August, it seems the system’s also showing immense growth in terms of sales in the United Kingdom as well.

According to UK retailer Argos, the Xbox One has seen the most growth in terms of sales in the period of a year out of all the consoles currently on the market. Between July 2017 and July 2018, the Xbox One has seen a growth of 22 per cent in sales in the UK, which is twice as much as the PS4’s 11 per cent. Meanwhile, the Switch as seen a 9 per cent growth.

Nick Hill, Head of Video Gaming Buying at Argos, feels that this is largely due to the Fortnite craze, which has driven up sales of all systems, the Xbox One included. And according to Hill, these figures are only bound to go upward still, thanks to the oncoming Holiday season.

“It’s incredible to see how much Fortnite has influenced our customers and inspired a new generation of gamers,” Hill said. “Demand for gaming laptops, controllers, gaming chairs and headsets has soared as customers look for ways to further enhance their gaming experience. Based on previous gaming phenomena like Pokemon Gotwo years ago, we predict that Fortnite fever will peak this Christmas as more of our customers spend their free time immersing themselves in the game.”

Given the fact that Microsoft recently announced a Fortnite bundle for the Xbox One S (as did Nintendo for the Switch), I can see that being doubly true come November-December.

Notably enough, though the Xbox One is the fastest growing console in the UK currently, in terms of the number of units sold, the PS4 still remains firmly in lead, according to Argos- which is to be expected, really, given just how strong of a foothold Sony’s consoles have in that market.

ok, tell me if this makes sense, I created a 2nd account for my brother so he can can play on my xbox (he has never had a tag or an account before, we shared the one I had on the old pre 360 xbox back in the day). So first I created a new MSN account (email and password) verify it by them sending a code to my alternate address (the same one I use for my PSN). it verifies it, and shows me my new account with a random game tag they chose for me and my zero game score. I log into the xbox account site using that same log in so I can get the free name change you get when you create a new account. I then turn on my xbox and go to add new and enter the email but it never gives me an option for the password just to create a new account which I start to do then it says the email is not recognized. So go to back to my MSN page and go to log in with the email (and THIS is where it gets INTERESTING), I enter the email I created and it says That Microsoft account doesn't exist. Enter a different account or get a new one. . So i go get a new account (as one of the options) and when I enter the email it says *email I created* is not available but yet when I go to log in it gives me that same that MS account does not exist. so how can it not exist but when I go to get a new account it says my email is not availible (shakes head)?

oh and it gets better I wake up this morning call the 800 number and all it does is tell me to go to xbox.com/help no other options just that they can email me that link. so I go to xbox.com/help and guess what in order to call or chat you need to enter the damn email for the account WHICH I CAN'T DO god damn this crap.

final update I was able fix the problem I thought I used one email to create the account but it was a different one, since Xbox could not find my account based on that email I tried MSN/hotmail support and they were able to find which email was associated with my account based on a code they sent my gmail account. I was able to sign in on my laptop to my new account and then was able to add it to my One so now my brother can play on my xbox when he wants and when he gets his own One in the future he just has to log in with his new email and password.

Anyone else notices the change in their tech support phone number? You cant even reach them at all, they send you a text and that goes to a website.

They always had people answer the calls and now they just hang up.
