I'm hoping that we get no info even after the reveal. Just keep it all a secret until launch day. Keep gamers on their toes.

Well as long as the load time isn't like Battlefield 1...

Let's hope when Microsoft gets on the 1 yard line again they decide to hand the ball to Beast Mode this time instead of throwing another interception to Sony like their Seahawks did to the Patriots in the Super Bowl.

Run the ball Microsoft! You got the most powerful console, now deliver on that s***!

More thoughts on Microsoft VR for Scorpio:

Microsoft has recently spoken, and they clearly see VR as not a competitor for Mixed Reality, but part of the driving force behind it. They are very clear about making Widows Mixed Reality a huge thing, and MR being more important than the mobile market, that they seem to agree that they already missed out on. They clearly see MR as BIGGER than mobile in a few years. Think about that for a minute. This is a huge gamble for them, but they are soon to put all of the chips in... Where about 6 months ago, it looked like they might have been luke-warm on VR, they are actually poised to do a whole: "VR isn't ready until we say it is" routine. Just what there version of VR/MR actually entails, (other than inside-out taking) is anybody's guess.

What does this have to do with Scorpio? I think they will consider it the lead platform for VR/MR. Whether or not they have games ready at launch, the simply HAVE to show their VR/MR vision when they finally show Scorpio at or before E3.

Keep in mind that these headsets just went to all developers, yet some key devs (like Bethesda) have had their VR/MR DKs since at least a year ago. The headsets will also go on sale to the public this fall, so I'll let you guys connect the dots on that one. Yeah, they did say MR next year, but what if that's their array of MR apps that they consider MR? I'm of the opinion that VR (containing some MR features not revealed yet) is very likely to be released on Scorpio later this year. I look forward to that reveal coming up.

It certainly seems that MS is "smirking" about something coming and the hints they've given would make your educated guess fit perfectly. I believe they have a mic drop moment in store for us and we have guesses of:

1.) increased specs
2.) early release
3.) pricing below cost
4.) VR/AR/MR ready to go
5.) an unrevealed game(s)
6.) opening up of PC games playable on consoles

Did I miss anything? All of them sound tasty to me and I'd take all 6!!!

Say ONE more thing about my Seahawks, hear? ONE more thing. Watch...:smash:

Trying to not get my hopes up about the August rumor, but that sure would be fantastic. Generally slow time for games, where I'll likely be insanely sick of the summer heat here in Texas and would be more than happy to be gaming it up.

one thing about releasing in august is to do so with very limited numbers to sell out and create hype. Drop a few small shipments in sept/oct and full on Nov/Dec.

Breaking news!!! SuperDae is back and rumored to have a scorpio dev kit. Will release specs soon!

Boy did he ever fall far from his original self glorification. In December he fled to the Czech Republic after the Aussie govt was about to drop the legal hammer on him. His mother got thrown in jail for driving him to the Perth Airport. Meanwhile he's been joking and partying for the last 2 and half months.

He changed his handle from SuperDae to Day After Exploit and he hangs out with a whole lot of conspiracy spooks that make the average tin-foil hatter seem sane.

I remember when our government teamed up with the FBI, they changed a law that allowed the government to collect and store our metadata, but our own government can't "look at it."

As stupid as the patriot act. It's obviously a law intended to be abused, and justified in court after the law has been broken.

Good on him for fighting against invasion of privacy, and kudos to Assange for making governments accountable for their actions.

But they're almost hippocritical stances to support. Lol.

I'd kill for some hacker to give us the specs haha.

But of course! :hehe: On the VR stuff, I highly doubt it. If you listen to podcast unlocked 285 (I believe), Phil talks about VR/AR a bit but it's fairly obvious that Microsoft is being cautious about the whole thing (and with good reason). VR will be ready to go before AR most likely but I think MS is waiting for:

1. Software development in VR to be more mature (this should happen in the next 12-18 mos)
2. Lower costs for the VR headsets...we've seen them commit to this for Windows 10 and that will obviously extend to Xbox
3. No wires!!! Phil's take IMO is that he thinks VR won't really be viable to the masses until it's fully wireless (he didn't say that in so many words but you can read between the lines there)

I have to say all 3 of those would be required for me to really care about VR. I'm not going to spend $300 - $500 on a headset with a bunch of mini-games and maybe one or two AAA experiences...and all dem wires....bleh. I think 2018 will be the year that all 3 of those items come together into a viable VR package.

You in Texas too? Where at (I know it's not grammatically correct with the prepositions and all, but I'm a rebel)?

I moved here a couple years ago, Dallas area. You?
Abilene (two-and-a-half hours West of you). Been here three-and-a-half years. Actually building a house now. Hope to be here for a good while.

Oops, haha, meant West, not East!

All these Texas people. I lived in Texas for two years. All over in the metroplex and out west. Loved the people, but I.would miss the mountains too much to ever go back.

I grew up in NW Houston. Graduate of TAMU. Lived in Carollton for a bit with a lady. Left after graduation and only come back Christmas time to see the family who are still roasting there. Love the state, love the stuff, can't bear the humidity again. Much easier when I was young but now I sweat my azz off everytime I visit and that is in December even!

I actually lived in Abilene for about a month and a half. I really enjoyed my time there

I feel the same way about Tampa. What mountains, might I ask? I'm in CO.

I also read an article that they were talking about project Scorpio and not once they mention Texas.

I have heard him say those things too. Keep in mind, that he is talking in broad strokes. The other thing Phil said is that he believes VR and AR needs to merge. We are currently seeing that with Windows Mixed Reality.

Still, I think all of those broad strokes may be painting a hazy image of what to expect from the ultimate dream HMD... which I believe is what they will eventually prop up Hololens to be, when it is finally baked and ready for prime time. It will be cordless, do AR/VR (the VR part will probably be wireless), and the software will be very mature by then.

...I really just don't want to wait until some time in 2019 for the ultimate experience. I think this is what all of those other headsets are about. That is, having multiple solutions before the king is announced.

I'm just trying to connect the dots properly, so I may be a bit off.
