Hey, folks. I just wanted to drop in and provide a little update on me and my gaming activities, for anyone who's interested.

I picked up a Switch a couple weeks ago, because I was tired of the sort of games the other consoles emphasize (serious, heavy, "mature," violent, grimdark). I wanted to shift my focus to the sort of games Nintendo specializes in -- lighthearted and fun. I was also tired of all the console warrioring and the obsession with graphical minutae and power differences. Nintendo fans don't seem to get into those arguments. Instead, they seem to just talk about games -- playing and enjoying them. Go figure, eh? What a concept, lol. That appealed to me. Dealing with console wars and the petty rivalry that happens on gaming forums can suck the fun out of gaming. I had actually been pretty "meh" on gaming for the past couple years, but I've found my way back -- in the form of SpongeBob Squarepants, of all things, then a replay of Ratchet and Clank on PS4. Those types of fun, lighthearted games helped restoke my enjoyment.

I'm playing Zelda now and liking it, of course. I've got about 8 titles on the Switch that I'm interested in playing, so it will keep me busy for a while.

I am not seeing anything on either of the next-gen machines that is really calling me yet. Once Horizon Forbidden West comes out, I'll be obligated to pick up a PS5. I'm sure I'll enjoy the next Ratchet and Clank, too. To be honest, I've grown a little cool on most of Sony's other staple franchises. I thought Spider-Man was good, but like 8/10 good, not something I can't do without. I tried Death Stranding but couldn't deal with all the cinematics (11 hrs! Give me a break). God of War was ok, but again nothing I can't do without. I enjoyed Uncharted, but the last one was a letdown (family drama), and with Druckman in charge, I don't expect future installments to return to their former glory. I didn't even bother with TLoU2 -- I was turned off from a variety of angles. I will probably enjoy Ghost of Tsushima, once I get around to it.

So, I think Sony has maybe 3 or 4 franchises I like. That's enough to warrant a purchase of a PS5. I'll probably grab one sometime within the first year. I'm not in any hurry. I'll be playing Switch games for the next few months, at least.

With Microsoft's acquisition of Bethesda, I'll definitely be picking up an XSX down the road, too. I was already planning on doing that for Fable and Avowed, but now that Starfield and Elder Scrolls are going to be exclusive (at least that's what I assume), that's even more certain. I probably won't do it until they have rolled out at least a couple of their big WRPGs. So maybe 3 years from now.

Anyhow, I haven't dropped by for about 6 months, so I wanted to give a little update. Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their gaming. Cheers.

Miss you man! Thank you for the update. Makes me want to play my son's Switch.

It would have looked and performed better on PC if they launched at the same time.

I wouldn't doubt it if PC actually had game studios that developed exclusively for the higher end spec. The problem is they don't , that's why they wait few years down the line for these ports.

Uncharted 4: The Definitive Edition coming to a PC near you soon.

uncharted 4 is a nice game. The whole story is „the princess is not in this castle„ for like 4—5 times, until you finally find the princess, but gameplay is pretty fun, and graphics are amazing even on my base ps4.

UC4 was my favorite. I enjoyed them all, but I like the back and forth with Sam. Lost Legacy was a dumpster fire though, IMO.

UC 2 is my favorite. Followed by Lost Legacy. Could have done without UC4 completely.

I sure would hope so since it's been 5 years since launch.
Yeah for sure, "it'll look better than the pro" lol what a silly thing to even bother saying. The game came out 5 months before the Pro and all the work they did was increase the resolution from 1080p to 1440p.

Followed by Lost Legacy
Good Morning GIF

Seems no Football Manager on PS again this year. Not sure why but last year it was because Sony didn't send it dev kits to them.
