It seems like the Pro is out of stock at most online retailers, I don't know why, I get why the limited edition consoles are sold out but the standard model? I wonder if there is some kind of hardware revision coming for the Pro and they are trying to run out the stock already shipped to retailers?

Yeah, I'm hearing reports of shortages at various online retailers. Other people are saying they see them in stock, though. Reports seem mixed, and the shortages seem mostly in the US.

Looks to me like Sony just isn't supplying enough to keep up with demand in the US. Maybe God of War and Spider-Man have pushed demand for the Pro.

PS4's PlayStation Now Adds Downloadable Games, Making It Much More Attractive
Stream or download PS4 and PS2 games for a monthly rate.

The PlayStation Now service has gotten a big upgrade today, with the announcement that subscribers can now download games in addition to the existing streaming option. The company boasts that "almost all" of the PS4 games on the service can be downloaded, along with the lineup of PS2 games. This doesn't include the line-up of PS3 games.

Your downloaded games will support any DLC or add-ons, and you don't need a PlayStation Plus membership to play online multiplayer for games through PS Now.

The ability to download games puts the PlayStation Now service more in-line with Microsoft's Game Pass, which offers a library of Xbox One and Xbox 360 games for a monthly subscription fee. And for those who wish to stream, that option is still available unlike on Microsoft's competing service. Game Pass still has a few advantages of its own, though. The $10 per month price is the standard, not a promotional rate, and Microsoft has committed to putting all new first-party games on it at launch. The two services are competing for your dollars, so a lot will come down to which library appeals to you more.

Not for PC though. Still streaming. They should add the ability to download and play on PC.

That's an impressive score. I'm surprised -- this one came out of nowhere for me. I just thought it was going to be a cute platformer. But it seems like they did an outstanding job. It looks like a lot of fun, with very creative and imaginative level design.

It really is special. Made my gf tear up playing last night during the water world mission. You start out on a beach and these dolphins escort you to a underwater cavern. It's breathtaking and so clever how they tug at your emotions in places.

If you swing by Era check out the impressions, people are loving it.

I've heard that the KH story is extremely convoluted, so if I get KH3, I doubt I'll even try to comprehend what has gone before. But for those who may be interested...

Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far Announced for PS4

Combines every single Kingdom Hearts game so far into one package.

Today, Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far was announced by Square Enix, a $40 release that combines 1.5 HD, 2.5 HD, and 2.8 into one consolidated release. That means this package contains KINGDOM HEARTS FINAL MIX, KINGDOM HEARTS Re:Chain of Memories, KINGDOM HEARTS 358/2 Days (HD Remastered cinematics), KINGDOM HEARTS II FINAL MIX, KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep Final MIX, KINGDOM HEARTS Re:coded (HD Remastered cinematics), KINGDOM HEARTS Dream Drop Distance HD, KINGDOM HEARTS 0.2 Birth by Sleep –A fragmentary passage–, and KINGDOM HEARTS χ Back Cover (movie).

That’s actually ridiculous in terms of value, given that all of this is only $40. It will be out, exclusively for PS4, on October 30.

PS Now Adds 10 New PS4 Games, 7-Day Trials Reset
The game-streaming service now offers over 220 total games, including The Elder Scrolls Online and Sniper Elite 4.

The game download feature gives subscribers the option to download almost all of the 220+ PS4 games in the service to play locally with full audio and visual fidelity and DLC and add-on support.

As of this week we have also reset the 7-day trial, so anyone not subscribed to the service as of October 2 can try out downloads for most PS4 games in the service, as well as streaming for all 650+ games in the PS Now library. Even if you previously had a paid subscription or used a 7-day trial for PS Now, you can now access the 7-day trial again to see how easy the new download feature works.

This is good news for me. My nephew put some dumb gansta'ish tag on my user name and I can't wait to change it.

Is a cooling fan/stand worth it for a launch PS4 that has a fan that sounds like a jet engine, or no?

Might have something to do with it being the best console this gen. Not sure, but just a guess. It's funny because i was told that the Pro was useless because it didn't have a 4K blu-ray player and all that. Guess people buy consoles to play games.

And lol at the PSN name change coming. I've always been of the mindset that you pick a name you want and stick with it. Sure, it's a good feature to have but if you chose an awful name the first time around, what were you even thinking bro? Cool though, another thing people can't knock Sony for.

Apparently, Sony is pushing PSVR in malls across the US.

Didn't I just read that Oculus cancelled development on their next generation rift headset?

I wonder what Sony's view is on the future of VR. I probably spent 3+ hours in Astrobot and Moss, but never feel the urge to go back anymore.

Probably fake news. https://www.ign.com/articles/2018/10/23/oculus-disputes-reports-that-rift-2-has-been-canceled

The attach rate is what makes sony push it like this. It's really high and what makes VR profitable. It's not going away.

Layden also shared a few new details about the game (MediEvil):

“I think there have been some words that might sound alike but mean different things—like remake and remaster,” Layden said. “This is a remake. We’ve taken the original game design and we’ve taken a lot of the key art, and some of the other attributes of the game design and ethos, if you will, and we’re working with a developer called Other Ocean Interactive, and they are remaking MediEvil and that design—the original MediEvil from PS1. The original one—the one that I worked on. (So this is based on the PS1 version of the game?) Exactly.”

Layden continued, “We’re working with some of the talent that were originally associated with the title 20 years ago, so we’re making sure that we’re keeping it real, keeping it to the original intent of the creators. It’s sweet, I tell you. On Halloween, please get to a streaming video point near you and check it out.”
Stay tuned.

That sounds pretty cool.

Ni No Kuni 2: The Lair of the Lost Lord (DLC)

.... Thankfully, that wait is over. Because Ni No Kuni 2’s first major DLC is here, and it looks incredible.

The Lair of the Lost Lord brings a variety of content to the main game, such as new items, materials, quests, and a brand new dungeon: The Labyrinth.

A release date has yet to be confirmed, but it is said to be coming out Winter this year.

https://www.vgr.com/bandai-namco-finally-releases-the-first-ni-no-kuni-2-dlc/

I'd like to play this game, too.
