I will say that the jump for the Pro really doesn't impress, but going from the One to the One X was huge. So much so that I look at the One like a friggn' 360, lol.
The other thing to consider are that so much power was sucked up in the chase for resolution. Now it's been (generally) reached, they can start using that overhead for the actual games. Couple that with an actual CPU upgrade.... Well, I think this next gen will be pretty special.
That said- I'm not super-excited yet. I absolutely have to see what they are doing. I know I'll be getting it, but I need to see to get my blood up.
Good point about the power being available for things other than resolution-chasing.
Re. the mid-gen console upgrades ... I think they are probably part of why I'm not super-pumped. The jump between generations isn't as large as it would normally be. It feels more like an incremental upgrade after a few years, rather than a huge generational leap. I guess the upside is that as a Pro owner, it'll be the flip side of what we saw with the next-gen upgrades, i.e., a bigger jump for Pro owners than for X owners (not meaning to get into "vs" stuff, just trying to see the upside).
