Sure, lol. Same way you thought they were facts. LMAO.

Simple fact is game mags of yesteryear wee no better at all. The amount of stuff they got wrong shows the entry wasn't higher at all. We have just have more now, which makes sense. The amount of interaction between devs, companies and average joes has grown massively. More people now have 'friends' in the industry.oddly enough, these leakers get more right than pro people like Pachter, and gaming Journos are clueless and just regurgitate the leaker info.

You either misunderstanding it or are wrong. Barrier to entry here is that is you wanted to start a rumo(u)r that the PS5 is going to have a 22 TF card, you can go to Twitter, or the y'alltube or pastebin and post that. To get into the magazine you have to convince the writer to publish it, plus whatever review process they have.

Not misunderstanding anything anything. Those mags were full of bulls*** rumours. So not sure where this "barrier" actually is. Most of the rumours that garner traction are those the masses deem plausible. The dumb ,ignorant, nonsensical ones die quickly.

To use your terms, the masses are the publisher and provide the barrier we saw pre internet explosion. Only difference is the higher scrutiny the masses give each rumour.

Yes, and we were forced to accept that what they said carried more weight. The best thing about the internet is it reduces the power of that Appeal to Authority. Many "professional " writers don't do their due diligence, or just plain don't understand the info they gather well enough to convey it's meaning correctly.

What was that dude on EGM that was a rumor ninja? Sushi or something.

I remember the N64 being hyped as Project Reality. Lol

To get a bulls*** rumor in a magazine, you have to convince them to print it. To get one on Twitter, you have to post it. Whether it's a s***ty gatekeeper or not, you can not put your words in someone's magazine without making them want to.

Which makes it even worse when it happens. And it does.

People talking on neogaf with supposed industry connections are saying that the PS5 is indeed around 9TF and the XSX is 10TF so it would seem IF they are telling the truth that when Spencer said double the X1X performance he meant exactly that and not 12TF RDNA which makes sense because 12TF RDNA is a lot more than twice the performance of the One X. We'll see, I'm sure when all is said and done they'll both be very close and the games will look incredible.

Which wasn't very hard at all apparently.

And you can't start a meaningful rumour without the masses giving it the Ok.

If that turns out true, I called it.

Yeah hardware shouldn’t be an issue for either company. The way both are designed and the efficiency in the tools and engines developed to take advantage of the hardware, games should look amazing right off bat and only improve from there.

Of course it’s gonna still be fun and informative to compare visuals and performance.

Souns about right. 12 TF seemeed a bit high and left not much room for a mid gen refresh, which I assume will happen again.

9 to 10 TF give us the 7 to 10x jump we usually see from gen to gen.
