Another ‘leak’ from some French guy. I do not believe this one, and he won’t give his ‘source’, but here it is (twitter translated):

-PS5 Retail 8 Tflops

That's ok for a great idea

it is a great idea but the a sceen so small, I don’t think it'd worth it. UI designs may be plain, wait, it could work, their UI has been a template with not much thought placed into it. Just scroll left or right, kinda like the ps3, but I understand why they went that route..

People luved the non color likely smaller Dreamcast controller screen.
Plus extra buttons underneath the controller.
Sounds great for PS5.

XSX is offering nothing noteworthy/ new for it's controller.

As long as it doesn't hurt the specs of the PS5 ala Xbox One Kinect style I want it.

It was neat, but never taken full advantage of. But really the only thing feature I could see the Xbox getting is a gyroscope/accelerometer like the ps/switch controllers.

i just think it’s a feature that will get glossed overlike the current touchpad on the ps4 controller.

Shoot, that’d be horrendous if it was a leach on performance like the Kinect was. It’d need its own cpu/gpu/arm-chip or something. But if it did I hope they used their own proprietary tech to wirelessly transmit data, none of this Bluetooth malarkey

It was used good considering the short lifespan of the DC.

It most definitely would be used more than the current touchpad of the DS4.

I wasn't talking about the performance hit Kinect had I was talking about how the xbo ended up with weaker specs than PS4 and a higher price.

They aren't going to go through the expense of putting a worthless little battery draining screen on the controller, they already have added haptic triggers etc. The guy who already held the new controller said it had the touchpad on it which it would need for BC games that used it on PS4, which was usually as another button to press, it was hardly ever used for anything else. Who wants to look down at a tiny screen on a controller when you have a large tv right in front of you that can do a better job displaying all of the info you need.

I assume he must be talking a separate service offer that allows you to bundle PS Now and PS+. I don't want PS Now, so I wouldn't want to pay for it.

I would imagine so. Forcing that on folk wouldn't go down all to well.

They sourced resetera chatter lol. The only "reworking" rumors I've seen were that Sony changed things up in 2017 and that until that point 2019 was the plan but the decided to go with 2020 and of course when you change your plans that early you are also changing what tech you'll be using.

What are they reworking?

If it’s even true, I think the only thing they could rework without major delays is clock speed, which would explain the overheating rumors from last year.

Again, nothing confirmed though.

Exactly a bit reaching some are doing.

This is not true.
Quite a few things can be reworked/enhanced.
Ram amount, internal SSD size and cooling solution to name a few.

Maybe the cooling solution (but if that’s the case, there must have been a heating issue), but other than that the other things shouldn’t cause significant delays.

They changed the ram on the PS4 at the last minute and didn’t skip a beat on game or console releases.

I would guess that if the 2017 date is true that they likely changed it so they could go with newer technology in the machine, that combined with the continued success of the PS4 would make it a no brainer to move it back. If they came up with a different game plan in 2017 they likely changed everything in the console, it's not like they would have had any real hardware ready at that point anyway.

Exactly they must not play games on the couch with people.

Who the heck wants a touchpad instead of a screen?

The touchpad has to be there for BC, you can't pack in a controller that's missing features from the previous one if your console is supporting the previous gen of games.

A screen that small would be useless in madden, you wouldn't be able to read anything and good luck picking a play using your fingers on something that small. Just go by the honor system when playing vs someone in the same room like we've all done for decades lol.

I read the non lit small DC controller screen when I played NFL2K.
