Wait, so the fan is essentially now like a Kinect taking/using resources?
Not at all. It's job is to simply collect the information given off by the frequency and function based on that information. Sony will not tweak that information but the fan itself based in how that game is played.

But still at the expense of leeching resources to accomplish that, no?

No, it's probably like how it would be done on PC, monitoring sensors on the motherboard and the logic at the BIOS level so it's probably the same impact on gaming performance as having the system capable of showing you the date and time.

Sony Interactive Entertainment Trademark ‘Soho Engine’ In Europe

Sony Interactive Entertainment has trademarked ‘Soho Engine’ in Europe.

The trademark, which was found by Gematsu, has absolutely no detail about what SOHO engine is or what it will be used for. Therefore, it could be a new engine being developed internally, such as for the action-adventure PS5 title Visual Arts is working on. Or it could be the title of a new game being developed by a member of PlayStation Studios, either first-party or a second-party partner.

Hi everyone – we wanted to share a quick update on our plans for Destruction AllStars. We’ve decided to move the game’s release from November 2020 to February 2021, where it will be included for two months in PlayStation Plus at no additional cost.

Well, there goes that $70. :)

probably for the better, too many big games would put it in the abyss that be the bargain bin immediately, if it released then

The lineup was strong regardless of the fact. If anything, people were worried that this game wasn't worth the $70 price tag. David Jaffe, the developer behind Twisted Metal on PlayStation, spoke of how this game was very similar to his and how pricing it that high would send it to it's grave since it is not one of those game to justify the price tag.

But this is what everyone else kept saying:

Oliver made the transition to the Visual Arts Studio Group last month, presumably having completed his work on Ellie’s sophomore adventure. He’ll serve as Senior Environment Artist on an unannounced project, which many expect to be some kind of Uncharted sequel or spin-off. While the VASG division is primarily responsible for motion capture, the Japanese giant has been building a development studio off it.
