Pretty awesome mock up, not realistic at all but awesome lol.

That looks like something that would break a lot to me. Moving parts in a controller like that? How would the widening grips even function? That threading would cost 300 dollars.

Hyperbolic quotes like "compromises will be a thing of the past" are an attempt at marketing and mean nothing. It's literally false. There's will always be compromises based on prioritization. That said, the I/O throughput was a major bottleneck this gen. As was the CPU. The floor has been lifted on those things significantly. According to some devs, CPU may still be the biggest bottleneck. Once you stream in all those assets, they aren't worth much more than prettier replacements for the cardboard cutouts if you can't do anything dynamic with them. This is why devs consistently stress balance. What's considered "balanced" depends on what type of game you are trying to make.

I think I'm coming to the opinion that both Microsoft and Sony nailed what they were going for. They had different priorities. Sony's were around leveraging what their 1st party studios do best while aiming to keep their BoM below Microsoft's. It's the easier system to develop for with the biggest user base. This will help them negotiate exclusives and if those exclusives prioritize graphics over frame rate or dynamic environments, they can continue to have a better looking lineup.
They say this stuff every generation

Oh yeah it's not realistic at all but I think it's cool and imaginative :) I love the color they chose to go with instead of white, that silver/gun metal color is awesome.

that’s just stupid.... when can I reserve this ;) :p

It’s be cool in just its final form if it plays some cool sound effects whilst ur built up and played funky final boss type music.

Would probably cost as much as a base Mac book pro :( would still buy thou

You get to see more/better stuff than you would without it, they can push the visuals more since they only have to focus on what you can see but yeah that's just an improvement on what we have now, what they do with that in any other ways remains to be seen.
Exactly.

"Sony's PS5 could use artificial intelligence to configure game soundtracks that will dynamically adjust to the way you are playing and to your emotions when gaming. ... The idea is the music will further trigger feelings within a player and help make for a more engaging experience. "

wholy crap

"Sony has championed how its next-generation console will have a 3D audio processing unit to deliver more immersive sound. So there’s a chance that this AI tech could find its way into the PS5. And having such audio tech could be one way to put Microsoft’s Xbox Series X on the back foot."

Sony knows their bread and butter is single player story driven games, I don't think they'll shy away from that as it's been a huge success for them this gen, they've had many games sell over 10 million copies. That doesn't mean that some studios can't put smaller teams on trying to make other content, I rarely play MP games but if they are able to add something for others to play without it impacting the quality and volume of the single player games I like it doesn't bother me. Most of their studios have been growing, San Diego added another team, I believe insomniac has two going, GG has been growing, Santa Monica has been doing a lot of hiring etc.

PS studios have been know to stray from their focus genres, naughty dog made crash team racing and polyphony made omega boost, which deserves a reimagining/remake

Sony isn't just shooting for hardware with great looking games, though.

Their strategy is a lot different from Microsoft. There is a REASON the DualSense was announced before the specs of the console, and it wasn't because Sony felt like they were out gunned here; it's just not the main focus of their next console. Their platform is targeting immersion. To put this into perspective, the PSP didn't lose out based on a lack of titles to the DS; it lost out based on HOW those titles were design for the platform.
