Yeah, It's the same rumble in the body and a not too different type in the triggers but much smaller. Microsoft has never gone beyond this since immersion. They simply added more of them but much smaller is all.
Why are you lying?

The triggers tech is new period! Sony is adding what XB been doing.

The trigger tech is only new in implementation. It's not new technologically. The tech in the DualSense goes far beyond this and even Nintendo. And the haptics in the DualSense are not in the triggers neither; they are in the body of the controller. So no, Microsoft has not done this.

Rumble in the triggers is nothing like changing the resistance, I still can't say that I've felt a game I've played use the rumble triggers on the One X, if they did I didn't notice it.

"Imagine playing a shooter where pulling the trigger on a gun results in a powerful, resistant click from the trigger on the controller. That sort of physical feedback is a far more valuable tool for immersion than anything ever produced by traditional controller rumble. "

"All it takes is a few corners on the track in Forza Motorsport 5 to really get a feel for how the Impulse Triggers change the racing experience," Greenawalt says. "Instead of a general rumble that is felt in both hands, the rumble in each trigger is now independently controlled, and the rumble experience is more reactive than ever to reproducing what is happening on track."

"In Forza Motorsport 5, we use rumble in a number of different ways to simulate as many of those physical forces as we can," Greenawalt says. "The rumble found in the controller chassis itself is used to convey feedback like engine RPM, suspension bump, collisions, and so on. The triggers handle tire slip exclusively (one trigger communicates the effects of throttle on slip, the other of braking on slip). As you drive, you’ll feel undulations in road surface, changes in tire friction, and rolling over things like rumble strips and the like. The subtlety of the Impulse Trigger rumble means that alert drivers can feel a loss of traction coming early and can respond as needed to keep the car under control."

First thing I noticed with the controller in Forza. The resistance is pretty evident. But it's true, not many devs used it from third party because it's not a universal feature. Now that Sony has haptic feedback like MS on the triggers, maybe more devs will use the feature.

Which existing PS4 peripherals/accessories will work on PS5?

  • Specialty peripherals, such as officially licensed racing wheels, arcade sticks, and flight sticks, will work with PS5 games and supported PS4 games.
  • The Platinum and Gold Wireless Headsets, as well as third-party headsets that connect via USB port or audio jack, will work on PS5 (the headset companion app is not compatible with PS5).
  • The DualShock 4 wireless controller and PlayStation officially licensed third-party gamepad controllers will work with supported PS4 games.
  • Both the PS Move Motion Controllers and the PlayStation VR Aim Controller will work with supported PS VR games on PS5.
Please note, not all PlayStation officially licensed or third-party peripherals/accessories may work on PS5. We recommend checking with the manufacturer to confirm whether a product will work on PS5 and specific titles.

Will DualShock 4 work with PS5 games?

No, we believe that PS5 games should take advantage of the new capabilities and features we’re bringing to the platform, including the features of DualSense wireless controller.

Is the PlayStation Camera for PS4 compatible with PS5?

Yes, PlayStation Camera will work with PS5 for playing supported PS VR games. It will require a PlayStation Camera adaptor that will be provided at no additional cost to PS VR users. More details on how to get the adaptor will be announced at a later date.

I don't care about the game, but still....Boo.

I don't get why anyone is making a big deal about a DS4 not working with PS5 games, they added a ton of new features to the new controller that comes with the console so we'll all have at least one lol. They could have just stuck with the DS4 and put a better battery in it but they are going for more immersion, I'm sure if studios utilize the tech in the controllers the right way it will add a lot to the overall gaming experience.

Whatever the case, it's just kinda dumb that it doesn't support it for PS5 games, for no good reason. If they had a real reason, sure, but it works on the console for PS4 titles... just weird.

With that said, the PS4 controller is f***ing terrible anyways, so it's really doing people a favor.

It makes perfect sense, they've built a bunch of new features into the new controller and they want to build games using that functionality,, they aren't just throwing a DS4 in the box and calling it the dual shock 5. The 360 controller didn't work with the X1, the PS3 controller didn't work with the PS4 this isn't a new concept, MS just hasn't done any real upgrades to the controller in the series x so they can just bring it forward no problem.
