ITT if Sony does something now that MS being doing for 7 years it's incredible and MS didn't invent it.
If MS does something Sony did before, MS is playing catchup.
Awaits the spin when Sony eventually gets a decent BC functionality and MS didn't invent that either.

Third party and PC have been doing this for some time. And, I'd like to think they are covering all their bases. But if you want to be that picky, would you say the share button belongs to DualShock or does that not apply?
And Xbox has been doing haptic and resistance in their triggers since 2013. Sony didn't invent it with Dual Sense.

Not sure what the point is of who invented what, when what matters is that we get to play the "inventions", not who MADE the inventions. The first modern car was invented in 1886. That doesn't mean I should drive a Benz, and that doesn't mean that because every car out there that has four wheels that they are inferior to the 1886 Benz.

Oh just wait until the grass and pixel counting begins.

I'm ready

Steam controller is a keyboard and mouse simulator not a controller.
I know of no madcatz "controller's" that got firmware updates.

There's a controller as well. :really:

But that's beside the point. Sony has their own agenda for doing the things that they do. But if you are going to continuously tie these things to a simple reaction, then that needs to equally apply across the board.

What controller? They only make a Steam controller which simulates a KB/mouse.
I own it and should know.

MadCatz has no Firmware update enabled controller.
I am more than willing to take a look at one from them if you kindly post one and be corrected.

Sony's been copying MS in regards to it's controller tech.
But that's ok cause XB makes a better controller.

Hopefully they copy the build quality cause the DS4 is terrible.

Now, I'm not sure where Sony has actually copied Microsoft's controller other than you just saying this. But if they did, i think you should regard Microsoft the same way, which doesn't seem to be the case.

Ok so like I said if you could provide a MC controller with FW updates I would stand corrected.
But that copied off of the XB so you lose.

Again the Steam controller I own and am sure you don't isn't a normal controller, its more of a KB/mouse emulator.

Sony's DS has XB controller written all over it with the latest news of FW updates being the icing on the cake.
But that's ok like I said as MS makes better controllers. You don't disagree do you?

I treat MS the same way...heck they make even more dumb mistakes than Sony and I'm vocal.
I criticize all of these companies NOBODY IS SAFE.

Oh please... The Steam controller IS the controller just as the MadCatz version. You don't sit around using a mouse and keyboard when using it.

There is nothing written on the DualSense controller except where Sony sees the market moving and not necessarily a single competitor like you are insinuating in regards to Microsoft's Xbox controller. But once again, if you are going to do this, then at least be consistent and not because you feel like you are obligated to do so just for the sake of being critical.

No it isn't like i said. You have no clue what Mouse/KB emulation is haha.
MC controller released well after the XBO controller.

The rumble tech is copying off XB.
The shape is copying off XB.
Being able to get FW updates is copying off XB.

Am I missing anything?

You need to take a closer look at those controllers before delivering such statements.

Moreover, the rumble tech in the DualSense is not only completely different AND far more advance, but it's located in a completely different part of the controller, too. Where the impulse triggers are located in the Xbox controller, actual pressure sensors are locate in the DualSense controller, which has absolutely NOTHING to do with vibration, let alone some analog motors anywhere.

The shape of the controller derived from the PS3's boomerang controller. So it's actually a hybrid between the DualShock 4 and boomerang with some small tweaks.

And firmware updates is......rather pointless since we already see where that's going.

If anything, i would say that these ideas were INSPIRED and not copied, by any one specific idea as you would like to believe.

Is there anything actually wrong with copying? Seems like people are getting worked up for companies just trying to make their products better for consumers to use?

Yeah this is how it works and its good thing. Its not even like they are identical controllers. Not even close. People just like to argue.

Yes, please do admit it because this conversation is pretty pointless.

And while we are at it, i can relate to a time where a firmware was released to adjust the lightbar brightness in the DualShock 4 controller. So theres goes another INSPIRED idea for you.

Absolutely not. When Microsoft got achievements, it INSPIRED Sony's trophy system. When Sony got PS Now, it INSPIRED XCloud. It's petty bickering is all it is

Hey fellas, can we just chill? Don’t think PV or any of the super mods would tolerate such tall to continue much longer. It’s like Chevy/Holden vs Ford up in here, but y’all own Honda’s ;) :p

Looks much better than white IMO

I really hope we can buy black plates to replace the white ones with, it looks so much better in all black lol. The controller looks better in black too but I'm not a fan of using the colors on the buttons.

I highly doubt they’ll do it (would place a bet on it), but if they did I’d panda it out with a sticker on the side that says 藤原豆腐店

“There’s been some confusion about this in the past and I can clear it up now,” wrote McDonald within the now-deleted tweet. “The PlayStation 5 can run all PlayStation 4 games without per-game whitelisting. Sony continues to test titles but the system will not prevent you from launching untested games.”

Well that's a pioneering service no doubt.
