I thought the Harry Potter one was the best looking game I've seen. Its basically an UE4 tech demo but as a realized game.

It's cross-gen too :) I thought parts of it looked really good and other parts pretty good but nothing looked bad for sure. I thought all of the games shown that actually showed gameplay looked good other than maybe fortnite and Five Nights at Freddy's which really didn't show much of anything. The least impressive thing was Death Loop but that style is never going to stand out as amazing even if they use a bunch of features that are impressive on paper.

Even though Miles Morales is cross gen you can at least see why that game can't look that way on PS4, it can still look great on PS4 but not as good as that, if someone says that looks current gen I think they are using their imagination a bit too much to dress up current gen games when they play them lol.

I know some people are mad that PS5 1st party games are going up in price, I just want to remind those of you who are in my age range that we paid just as much if not more for N64 games in the 1990's, they had nowhere near the production values, quality gameplay or length yet we paid it without much complaint because we wanted to play those games, now we get movie quality stories, great looking and playing games for what we paid 25 years ago, it just seems like an odd thing to be mad about.

PlayStation has sent out press release after press release about every first party title that has achieved huge market success. Those titles are extremely profitable. To argue PlayStation needs an extra $10 a game is outrageous. It’s a money grab plain and simple.

my guess is to make up for their losses, they won’t have an instal base to cover a double digit percentage when compared to the ps4....that’s why they’ll continue to support it for another four to five years.

And didn't the N64 also sell like half the amount the SNES did.

SNES only really had to compete with the sega genesis, the N64 had to compete with PlayStation and Saturn which both launched well before the N64 did and used CD's instead of cartridges so the games were not only significantly cheaper but just seemed more high tech and had added benefits like FMV and better audio and could play music cd's etc.

People are mad because publishers are making more money than ever

Not to mention the trend to ship it now fix it later. If I'm paying $70 for a game, it better be "done" when I buy it.

To be honest, for most games I'm going to wait for a sale anyway, especially single player games. Even at $60, I'm only buying a handful of games day 1 at full price.

Should we have received an email by now to pre-order a PS5 from Sony, when we all signed up with our gamertags at the Sony site?

I always knew you had it out for me!
See, you'd need to buy me dinner before I'd have it out for you. I mean, I might have it out on my own, though, but that's on a first served first come basis.

Where I live, I never paid more than $60 for N64 games. Most were $50. I remember seeing magazines and catalogs where some were priced $90, but why would anyone buy from some obscure place when stores were way cheaper.

Your new avatar here is a lot less scary than your graduation photo you had before.

Amazon emailing people telling them that their order might be delayed.

As someone who still buys blu-ray and albums, this a fairly stock email from Amazon for early preorders. I wouldn't worry about it unless it's very specifically tailored to the PS5 and not just a stock response.
