The controls in these new sports games are terrible. Too animation and momentum based. I never feel like I'm in control of the player.

I've never played 2k, but I know the EA games do some really nasty things with animations in order to keep you from winning the game. That crucial moment you try to make a move, you suddenly slow down and lose all agility. I had to stop playing NHL and Fifa because of it. I won't even download them for free off EA Play. It is like in a horror movie when people suddenly forget how to run when the killer gets close. It is so frustrating it makes me want to throw a controller.

It's the same in NBA 2K depending on the difficulty you play at. Even in all-star mode which I usually play, when the game is tied and it's coming down to the wire sometimes the opposing team's player will do some crazy 360 half court shot and it goes in. Sometimes it's not even the opposing team's star player, it's like a benchwarmer which is BS.

I don't play a lot of sports games. MLB The Show is the main one but every once in a while I'll play NHL or NBA, and while it has been probably 5+ years now even FIFA. I've always felt the basketball ones were the most random when it came to scoring. NHL while I still sucked it was still mainly about getting open and aiming. Baseball kind of a mix of aim and timing I guess but even the pitching when set to timing like basketball still feels better and more lenient. Basketball I will be wide open with damn near perfect timing and ball goes sailing off target.

Never heard of it. But I read your post as The Panty-less.

As long as the port and console release is not at the same time, I'm okay with it. Like a couple years difference.

If they are released on the PC at the same time, console exclusives will start to just fade away and that would be another reason to just stay PC.

I do not expect Sony to adapt the MS strategy of same day and date for PC and console. I think they will stay with the current strategy of getting as much value for the game on console then port to pc a few years later at full or near retail price.

It really wouldn't matter if Sony games make it to PC on the same day & date as they debut on Playstation. Well, just speaking for myself but I don't game on PC, don't want to game on PC. So, what games appear on PC are irrelevant to me. Offering more choices to the player by allowing the same game to appear on multiple platforms is good. But would be bad for or at least significantly harm the appeal of Sony's dedicated gaming console so I totally understand why Sony is reluctant to make the move towards PC in a much bigger way.

Well, still haven't secured a PS5. But my new chair is to be delivered tomorrow. I really hope its comfortable because my old Ikea, piece of crap chair is killing my back. For the record I was not set up to work from home but here I am almost one year later. Ohhh, the chair I have coming is from a company named Noblechairs, went with the Icon series because most of the gaming/office chairs I've seen have that bucket seat racing design which looks restricting and come in loud colors I just don't like.

Yeah I understand. Some people just like consoles more and want nothing to do with PC. For me though, one of the main reasons I got a PS5 is for the console exclusives. If Sony changes their stance and goes the same way as MS in the future as in releasing a title on both console and PC at the same time, I may have no reason to keep my PS5 or buy a future PlayStation because I can just play it on my PC on the same day. I don't believe I am the only one who thinks this.

Let me know how this is! I've looked at their chairs before and considered one. My home desk chair is starting to wear out after a full year of daily use.

Yeah, I get your point too. The biggest gaming platform on this planet is PC. But as we see, there's a large market for gamers who don't want the hassle that comes with PC gaming.

As an example, I'm in the market for a new laptop because work from home as exposed its sluggishness. Its old and time for an upgrade anyway. I reached out to a friend who's a coder and very knowledgeable in the world of PC parts/components. I was thinking about getting a Prebuilt Alienware for work and to dabble in PC gaming. He warned me away stating that prebuilds are garbage and he can help me build a PC.

At first I was onboard, then he explains a shortage in a type pf GFX card and that I should wait until its available in a few months. I was like "dude I'm going through that sh!t trying to get a PS5". So, I told him to forget about making the list of components I need to purchase. I'll just get a regular laptop and continue my hunt for a PS5. At least with the PS5 I don't have to worry about constant driver updates or other compatibility issues. Its simple plug-in & play.

Will do, this is the fist chair I've purchase that I didn't sit in first. So I'm a bit nervous, it came in at about $430 so its not cheap. But if its comfortable then it'll be well worth the price.

I've never heard of Noblechairs before but Youtube reviewers seem to like them. And, their chairs don't look like they belong in a 12 year olds bedroom.

Yeah, I can understand your point of view too.

Your friend's probably waiting on the new 3000 series Nvidia cards, it's all about supply and demand like the PS5. Right now, they are hot and people are buying them and scalping too.

If you're looking to build a gaming PC, I would go the build your own way because you or your friend would be the one to choose reputable products. Sometimes prebuilt use generic parts and don't have the best quality but if you just want a laptop for work, then yeah a prebuilt is just fine IMO.

The chip shortage seems to be hitting everything hard. I've been keeping an eye on PC prices and everything is still sky high, and not just the bleeding edge stuff, but everything.

I'm not always up on the latest PC news, but everything seems inflated by a lack of supply. Sitting tight seems to be wise for now.

I sent my friend 2 links to 2 different sites for a prebuild PC. He was amazed that they were offering a OEM version of the GFX card he said I should get. But then he went on to say how after I pay over $1400 that I'd have to rip out and replace the heat sink for the CPU, swap out the power supply and look into a better overall cooling system for the rig.

That sounds like too much work and more money on top what's paid for the prebuild so I scrapped the whole idea. I'll just get a average Dell Laptop or something comparable, its only needed for work and web surfing anyway. I just thought that since I'm in the market for a new computer that now would be a good time to check out PC gaming. But right now is not the right time because of the chip shortage and inflated prices.

Right now, I'm lucky enough to have a XSX. Hopefully I'll be able to get a PS5 which will complete my gaming needs.

The chip shortage is only one piece affecting supply in North America. Gaming media seems to not pay attention to the news, as I've yet to hear any of them mention the massive backlog of container ships from Asia just sitting in the waters outside of west coast ports waiting to be unloaded. Californian COVID restrictions only allow a limited number of stevedores / dock workers during any shift. Because of that, some ships are unloading several weeks later than normal. Volumes have pushed to many of the other west coast ports and caused similar results.

Also factor in the massive disparity in demand between Asia and North America, and the growing number of blank sailings (empty container vessels sent back to Asia void of cargo), and there are now several weeks of lead time required for ocean bookings from Asia. You're regularly seeing goods arriving in North America for sale a month or more later than expected. Supply Chains across all industries are have been having nightmarish difficulty dealing with the effects of this for the last few months, and it doesn't seem to be getting better any time in the immediate future.

If Sony puts them on PC day one, which I think is their end goal, it would have zero impact on you enjoying the game on your console.

It wouldn't but PC would have the best graphics. So why invest on two platforms when one is enough? I am pretty frugal I admit.

I totally agree. Every time I consider it, I remember all the annoying work and fiddling required for PC gaming, and immediately decide to stick with consoles.
