I used to be a big fan of TrueAchievements and TrueTrophies, but they're so ad filled now, they're difficult to navigate without being annoyed. I'll have to check this one out.

Watching Maximilian Dood play Bloodborne again... Please Sony and Bluepoint I beg of you. Do a Remake in the style of Demon's Souls. Love this game but the 30fps is eye bleed.

Yes! I am still waiting for 60fps update to play this.

As a huge fan of DV... it hasn't be shown to better better than HDR 10 for gaming.
Auto HDR Tone Mapping is better for gaming thus far.

Yea I mainly use HDR 10, DV isn't supported in most games, and in games that are supported, it just doesn't pop like HDR, the blacks kind of seem better on Gears 5 for DV.

But DV support also extends to media playback which would be an added bonus too.

Not physical media.

Dolby Vision can make things look worse, my tv was updated with the software version of it and when I watch some streaming shows that feature it the image kind of keeps changing light to dark etc over and over, maybe the processor just isn't up to the task or maybe it's the particular streaming service. I know if I pause something that's using DV the image is super washed out and bright instead of just staying how it was when I hit pause.

Which streaming services and what TV are you using? I recently purchased an LG C1 and have been streaming with both Disney & Netflix in Dolby Vision via the PS5 or directly from the app on my TV and the picture quality is incredible. I'm not a technical guy and this is my first experience with an OLED screen but I've been blown away by what I've been seeing on this new display. The lack of bloom around any bright light sources makes a huge difference in overall picture quality.

As for gaming, I think I'm still in need of calibration. PS5 doesn't support Dolby Vision Gaming yet so I can only test on my XSX. But when I use DVG the picture looks a little too dark for my tastes. I've been too lazy to search for tuning options and just disabled DVG on my XSX and have been happy with HDR.

Movies Anywhere is the app that I have the most issues with DV. My set is a few years old but it's also gets brighter than a lot of other LED/LCD sets and Sony did add dolby vision support through an update back when the added it to their other sets. I do wish they'd let you choose to opt out of using it and stick with HDR10 but everything with DV automatically goes to that.

I agree, these streaming apps should provide the option to select between HDR & DV.

Me too if there isn't day 1 new Ps5 exclusives included.
Schreier said day one releases aren't happening which is fine with me, I don't want investment in single player AAA games to wane because they aren't bringing enough money in through a subscription service. They don't have the money coming in from other departments the way xbox does with windows/office etc. If xbox died tomorrow MS would be just fine, if PlayStation died Sony would be in HUGE trouble.

Details are a bit sparse, but the posted circular on Walmart’s website prominently features the major consoles, including the Nintendo Switch OLED Model, Xbox Series X / S, and both models of the PlayStation 5 with the note of “Available in-store or online at Walmart.com/GamerDrop.

This event is exclusive to select Walmart stores. You can find the closest Walmart that’s participating in the Gamer Drop event on Saturday, the 11th, by searching your address or zip code on the Gamer Drop page. Listed stores indicate Gamer Drop hours of 10:30AM to 7PM, which is a limited window compared to store hours of many Walmart stores. We have reached out to Walmart for further details and will keep an eye out for more information.
