My local Walmart and Best Buy stay sold out of the official one. Plenty of 3rd party ones.

After I get my Collectors edition of Cyberpunk, I'm easing up on Amazon. They've been real hit or miss for a while.
Nobody wants that third party TRASH!

PS5 died for a good five minutes yesterday. It crashed and shut down while playing Miles and wouldn't turn back on for a few minutes. It repaired the hard drive when it turned back on.

Everything working okay afterwards ?

Do you have an external drive plugged in or been using standby mode? I'm avoiding these two things until they're patched to be more stable.

I've been using rest mode since launch and so far everything is fine. *knocks on wood*

I think a pro version will come out eventually. Like in 3 or 4 years. It's sad that the gen has barely started and we are already talking about mid gen refreshes. Ridiculous.

Beyond that, it's just a patent. Doesn't mean much.

I think MisterXMedia or whatever the hell it was might claim prior use of the dual GPU concept since we know that second GPU rumor for X1 was something he made up. 🤡

I have a small vertical line of what appears to artifacts that run from the top of the screen on down. It appears to come and go though but when present it shows up on the Home screen, games and Netflix. I switched HDMI ports and turned the console on/off. That seemed to work but I notice the issue last night also. Not inclined to returns it but just being hyper vigilant based on reports in the wild of bigger problems. I’m thinking it’s a patch sort of thing fix. Controller is first rate by the way. Went it thinking the additional rumble was a gimmick but it’s not.

Change hdmi port on TV? Faulty cable?

Are you using the HDMI cable included in the box?

Yeah the new haptic feedbacks are really cool. One of the major improvements from last gen.

From an inventory standpoint, no doubt. What a mess. I understand trying to avoid the 25% Section 301 tariffs from China, but manufacturing in Japan is doing Sony no favors whatsoever. I'm almost at the point where I'm considering giving up even trying to get a unit until they're easily available (when / if that ever happens, as they could definitely go the Nintendo route). You wonder how many people are giong to give up and go Xbox this time out of availability frustration.

It's not any worse than the PS4, that was basically sold out for 5-6 months, when a store got a new shipment it was gone within hours.

Xbox is also selling out though, so shortages are real on both sides. It's basically down to who can manufacture more for the rest of this year.
Which was pretty much always going to be the case, not sure why anyone acts as if this is any different than last time. They've actually put more PS5's in stores up to this point than they did PS4 and they are still selling out. I'm not sure about xbox numbers as far as volume but they are selling out as well.

Also covid situation potentially puts more people at home that are monitoring for stock as well. Video gaming interest has probably also increased due to lockdown and what not.

It's a bit worse and bots are likely the reason.
Don't know how it's worse, couldn't buy one then and you can't buy one now ;) they come in and go out. They had more on day one this time than they did for PS4.
