Official Thread Quantum Break

If you are worried about scores just read this glowing summary from IGN Sweden at the end of their 10/10 review.

http://se.ign.com/quantum-break/80264/review/recension-quantum-break?p=2

10/10 is beyond fishy... hey why no suspicion from this review?

According to Metacritic Microsoft bribed 28 outlets to give Quantum Break an 85 score of higher or 17 outlets to score 90 or higher.

VaL if I'm being honest, this is not your finest homework.

And that bar is already quite low.

Reliable sites didn't rate it high.
Some reviews(of any game) have haters/fake reviews, fans, critics and exaggerating fanboys.
Id bet the latter are here and it would get over a 90 average.

Good scores for the game. A bunch of really bad scores sunk the overall rating, but solid none the less for a game integrating a bunch of TV clips into it.

How many of those FMV heavy games during the PC-CD-rom 1990s were any good? Hardly any.

If you're going to make cinematic game, do it right..... unlike some games out there.

Who/what sites constitute reliability? It got good to decent scores almost everywhere.

2 points would hardly be anything worth nitpicking over.

GBs scale would suggest that a 2/5 isn't meant to be considered as terrible as it looks

5 Stars - While we don't believe any game is perfect, we recommend this game without reservation.
4 Stars - Still very good and easy to recommend, though it doesn't quite live up to its full potential.
3 Stars - The halfway point. An inherent appreciation of this game's specific gameplay style, characters, subject matter, and so on may play as big a role in your enjoyment as the actual quality of the game.
2 Stars - This game's problems outweigh its good qualities.
1 Star - This game will make you wish you had died in a fire moments before turning it on.

2 doesn't sound too good. Lol

Is someone not finding the game fun a problem or an opinion?

GS always underscores games.
And yes iQB is averaging good to decent scores.
LOL. Since so many critics have contributed scores, QB will end up in this high-70s range.... +/- a pt.

I'm sure Val was going to fully bombard this forum if QB had lousy scores like 1886. Turns out QB has scored respectable reviews. And that's even after a few 40/100 scores sunk it a few pts driving down the avg.

He's dumbfounded why a cinema heavy game like QB is at 78, while another cinematic game 1886 scored much lower.

Hey Val, QB is another solid X1 exclusive. You just have to accept it. Better visuals, better sound, better gameplay. Even the cinema clips are better. And all for a game running at "upscaled 720p".

Now he's cherry picking scores to somehow convince the board QB is a bad game when most sites have given it positive reviews?

Talk about desperate.

Meh...game seems to be getting good/to decent scores with a couple of really good scores and a few bad scores.

What is the big deal?

For the most part it is being well received.

All this arguing and trying to tear down something others enjoy is stupid.

If this was on PS4 Val would be celebrating its reviews and Intellivision would be bashing it. You guys should try to be a little less transparent.

Don't get mad I don't want the Xbox 720p version.

EDIT and it not a success review wise so why would I praise it?

We're going to need a v3 thread for when the game actually releases.

Narrative driven games are always divisive so the scores are not shocking, its overall doing well, which is good, assuming I enjoy it that is or else all those positive reviews are wrong, wrong, wrong.

As a side note Gerstman doesn't like Witcher 3 so that makes him a crazy man. And going by the last gb bombmcast he seemed to just like the Division so I'm shocked that he gave it a 4/5. Also I'm shocked that the Huber from gametrailers loved it.

This is the last post to mention SF people.

Copies have arrived at work

It's an awesome bundle really. This plus the AW games and DLC and the W10 version

The great reviews it is getting has me stoked for Tuesday. I tried launching the game again just no but no dice :)
