Official Thread Rainbow Six | Siege

It is the best MP shooter on any system in years......it has some problems with stability (X1) but have met and spoken to loads of peeps on this many that are now on my friends list.

Ubisoft have a long term hit on their hands here.....be intresting how they plan to leverage it now the DLC route is free to all...

Doesn't really translate on a flat video, but in the headset it's incredible. I recommend any Rainbow Six fans check this out if they have any interest in VR.

I might give it a try. Don't know about it being better than Siege right now. Siege has destructible environments.

Plus having a laser sight on giving away your position but calling it a realistic tactical shooter is off. People with lasers on their guns in R6 get laughed at (then shot).

I'm interested in how the aiming is. Farpoint is pretty decent, but that's not up to tactical shooter levels. It is still kind of wonky and getting the "gun" to do what you want is harder than real life. You kind of see the same thing in the video where people don't aim down sights.

Siege is way more than a tactical shooter though. Operator abilities make it more than just a shooter. There's a whole lot more strategy than just shooting. The locked operators are for balance. The defenders have a natural advantage since they win if the time expires, so they get less firepower.

For me it's progressing to levels closer to drilling in the military. Just the sense of presence makes me feel like the stakes are way higer. In Rainbow Six I always felt like I was playing a game, in Firewall it feels much closer and the things you can do with weapons, slicing the pie etc feels extremely real. Some of the blind fire stuff is really cool too. There almost zero wonkiness for me now, but it comes down to tracking. If I set it up wrong, its wonky.

Being on the receiving on of stuff like this is pretty crazy though. All of a sudden a machine gun is pushed through a window or doorknob handle pointed in your face. lol

I'd recommend giving this game a try next time there's a free weekend. It can be frustrating and have a tough learning curve, but there's simply no FPS experience like it. They've also done a better job putting a beginners playlist together.

There's just nothing like being a defender and hearing footsteps on the floor above you, waiting for the inevitable attack. It can be frustrating when you die and have to watch from the sidelines, but the matches go very quickly and it is so rewarding when you get it right.

Game is well designed and a lot of fun. I quit playing awhile back because no one on my FL plays it. Didn’t really like playing with ransoms on something like this would be better with a group.

Yeah you really need a dedicated group to play this, as communication is so important. My buddies and I have talked about firing this up again, so I actually just reinstalled it recently. Can't wait to see how bad I suck again.

He must have finished the fight. Welcome to Rainbow Six chief!

Im Out GIF by Halo
