Is there a way to disable it from being seen? It seems like more of a means for trolling than it is for anything useful. It also shows comments from people on the ignore list...at least it does for me.

I tend to agree. I used to enjoy that status bar, because the comments were friendly and witty, but lately it's gotten tedious, because people are using it to promote fanboy agendas, take digs at the "other side," etc. I've cleaned it up, but it keeps happening.

Let's see what Plainview thinks.

I'm using the Tactical style and the background is still there for me.

Edit: BTW I was asking if it could be disabled on an individual basis, not for it to be removed on my account. :ycry:

Yea and no. It's a PITA to do it individually.

Theme works fine here. I have no issues with the status update. If one doesn't like reading them, then don't read them. Not sure why one would eliminate something that is purely optional. I found everything in there funny personally.

Not optional is the reason. You couldn't hide it.

But if you don't look at it, why hide it?

As you can see below my post is a list of "similar threads"...which btw, are not similar at all. I can't hide it, and I don't want to read it. You know what I do? I don't read it. There, that wasn't hard.

Reminds me of when people were pissed that Forza has rewind. Don't like it, don't use it. Nobody is forcing you to use it (or read it in this case).

My 2 cents.

It was a widget in the sidebar. It was on the front page. You couldn't not see it.

The issue is the Shadow Of Mordor background (or whatever game it was) has gone missing since you took away the status updates widget.
I understand now. There was an update to the style and it may have been removed for copyright reasons.

Yeah, I think it was also a "first impression" factor. You don't want that creating a bad first impression, that the forum is full of console wars.

Are we even getting new active members?

There used to actually be some random funny stuff being posted. A lot of the stuff being posted lately is for the intention of pissing others off for whatever childish reason.

Idk why it doesn't include a collapse tab on the widget, or why it doesn't hide comments from people on the ignore list.

No status updates? People didn't like them? It doesn't make or break the forum, but it was a nice addition none the less. I agree that an collapsible widget is the way to go.
