Super excited to find it, still has Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories in it. Missing the battery case though, but works fine without it. There are cheap battery cases for purchase though. Been looking into getting games for it. Found that the channel Minimme has been especially helpful in looking at certain genres of GBA games and what is the most graphically impressive games available. Lots of the games can be pricey based on it's rarity and quality. I tried to find Asteix & Obelix XXL which is a fully playable 3D platformer on the GBA, but it's nowhere to be found. If anybody knows where I can find it, let me know.
It's pretty exciting because as a kid, I never actually had too many game boy games, and the quality could some times be hit or miss. I'm surprised by how many FPS games I've found. Doom 1 & 2, Wolfenstein 3D, Duke Nukem Advance, Ecks vs Sever, and Dark Arena all look like they'd be fun to play on the go. Some are pretty pricey, I found Ballistics: Ecks vs Sever to be the cheapest find so far, without going over $20, shipping included, but Gamestop has Wolfenstein 3D pretty cheap compared to amazon as well.
GBA ports of Max Payne and Driv3r also caught my eye. They seem to play very well and keep much of the feeling from their console counterparts. Max Payne is isometric but maintains it's directional bullet time mechanics well and Driv3r is a fully 3d open world. You can even get in and out of cars like the actual game. Pretty impressive stuff. I know that many attempted all kinds of tricks, including adding hardware into the actual game cartridges.
I'll only be getting one or two games out the gate, I never finished that Kingdom Hearts game. Stuck on a bossfight with Axe, but I'll be looking to have a nice little library of games to take with me on trips or family gatherings when I'm just sort of hanging out and browsing on my phone anyway.
