Beat the game and the Epilogue. Absolutely fantastic, and it was a cool little easter egg to see a lot of the map from RD1 in the game. Don't remember the plague from Armadillo, but thought that was a nice little touch.

Rockstar, just go aheead and put RD1 as DLC k thanks

I am at 33 hours, according to my Xbox, and just started Chapter 3. I suspect it will take me 50-70 hours to beat the game. Really enjoying my time with it.

Good chance that last part is happening

I read about the whole voice of adult Jack being caught in the game, but IDK, we'll see about that. What else have you seen to warrant the speculation? Would definitely pay at least 30 bucks for a remake of 1 with 2's graphics.[/spoilers]

I enjoyed the game more when I started not giving a damn about hunting anymore. The funny thing is, it's FAR easier to hunt legendary beasts than normal ones. Its a pain in the ass to get perfect pelts. Also, the rewards (unless you like to dress up your character) don't seem to justified the effort. The game is dead easy already & you really do not need the marginal bonus for crafting extra inventory or trinkets.

But the constant need to load the correct rifles ( & ammo type) on horse & pick them when dismount irritated me from start to end.

Prefect pelts are easy once you get used to it. Use binoculars to look for 3 star. Aim for the red areas in dead eye and use the right weapon depending on size

Wait, so not all animals will get you 3 stars. Now it explained why I get good pelts despite shotting on the red spots with the right weapon. Not a big deal though.

Not a fan of the hunting/fishing & the gambling mini-games. I only played the bare minimum to go through the respective missions.

Nope. You need to scout them to see which animals are in best condition and depending on how you kill them depends if a 3 star animal drops to a 2 or even 1.

For instance a shotgun to a rabbit will see it get 1 star.

I thought the star ratings on animal pelts added a bit of depth to the hunting which would otherwise be far to easy to get what you needed right away. Like real hunting it requires precision and appropriate calibers essentially. There wouldn't be much pelt left to speak of for instance if you shoot a rabbit with a .308...

What do you mean by scouting them for best condition? I do not get you. Are you saying the bino get some info on the animal's condition?

I am sure I absolutely used the right weapons (as per game guides, with 'S'), & shot the red spots at dead center with the yellow filter. Still, I barely get prefect pelts. As a completionist, you can be sure I did my due research when it comes to getting the right stuff done.

but never mind, I have beaten the game. Not getting back to it unless there is single player DLC.

Use binoculars on them from a distance and you will see a star rating next to the white text that tells you what the animal is. If it's less than 3 Star leave it be.

Binos will show the pelt quality (if you kill it the right way), but so will scoped rifles, which I like better because you can lock on.

I just find it surprising that I never hear anyone talk about it anymore.

I plan on catching it on sale when I have the time to put into it.

Game is amazing, it's just once I beat it I didn't want to go back and play online. Just didn't really interest me all that much.

Single player is one of the best I've ever played. Do yourself a favor and get it at $40, it won't be cheaper than that for a very long time. Pretty sure GTAV is still hovering ~$60

Do it......yella belly

Yeah Rockstar games don't go on sale very much. You can find GTA V for $30 on a good sale. Kind of crazy, but it still sells.

I watched all over the holiday for a sale and saw nothing other than the digital versions a few bucks off.

I have no time to play but I don't think you'll beat $40. Amazon has the same price for anyone wondering.

After this month there seems to be a little game drought so hopefully I get caught up.

I loved it. Parts were very emotional. If you like narrative story telling, it's one of the best of 2018.

I've beaten this game at least 3 times and I can still play it and fully enjoy myself.
