...November 5th.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will first be available through the Rockstar Games Launcher, and also available for pre-order on the Epic Games Store and Humble Store. The Steam version will be available for purchase in December. The PC port will also be a launch title for Google Stadia.

I can handle Outer Worlds fine. Games like Control, Red Dead, Cyberpunk, etc. will need a new card in my book. I plan on rebuilding next year in anticipation for those types of games. Not only because they demand it, but I want them to look as good as can be.

Some games aren't effected or I don't care if it's on the highest setting.

I'm contemplating pulling the trigger on a 2070 Super? $500 seems steep to me though.

I haven't priced out anything. I'll need a knew CPU, motherboard and graphics card. Maybe update memory.

I just bit the bullet and went with a 2080 Super with a Ryzen 12-core CPU, lol (32gigs of RAM). I use it for 3d graphics work, though. Haven't bought Red Dead (Already played with it), but the Ray-Tracing in Control is pretty darn awesome (now, if only they fixed that damn texture LOD glitch!).

I figure I'm good for a few years now (last computer lasted almost 8 years). I almost went with a 2080 ti, but the price to performance gains over the Super just weren't great enough. I hear the 2070 S was a good bump from the 2070.

It's pretty awesome to be able to run 1440p Ultra settings @~60fps on everything. It actually has me doing a third play-through of the Witcher 3, lol, hairworks and all!

To clear up any confusion, Nvidia tweeted that the inclusion of the logos was simply a reference to its RTX 20-series products and that RDR2 does not have ray tracing—Nvidia was simply using the opportunity to advertise its RTX graphics cards. - Source

Game of the century
Will be playing it for the first time in a few days when my new GPU gets here. Just because of this comment I decided to start freeing up some space on my hard drive for it now.

Why not 4k? If you've got a 1440p monitor you can still use dynamic super resolution.

Because I still can't get a solid 60fps with Hairworks and Ultra @4k for one, or with RayTracing on in certain games. For another, My PC monitor isn't even 1440p, so no reason to waste resources.

This isn't the Witcher 3 thread.... RDR2 was great though...
Yeah... I'm playing it on switch atm, did it on xbox/ one X about a year ago. It's a bit jarring graphically at first but when you get used to it not being a One X enhanced version you can appreciate how great it looks, easily best looking game on switch and much easier to get time into because portability. Would never play it docked though.
But yes, rdr2 prob second to witcher.

Game crashes on me after 90-120 minutes of play consistently. I figured it was a heat issue so I messed with the fans, lowered targeted temps etc. etc.. Didn't help so far. It's tough in the winter time, lol. Gotta cover up the vents and sit in the room freezing just to get in a marathon run.
