Microsoft's studio dedicated to developing original interactive programming for Xbox One, Los Angeles-based Xbox Entertainment Studios, has reportedly greenlit a new project: an unscripted series about street soccer named Every Street United.

According to a report from Deadline, each 30-minute episode of Every Street United will feature "the greatest undiscovered local street soccer players" from around the world. At the end of the eight episode run, the best of the amateur best will then face each other in a match at the 2014 World Cup.

Every Street United is reportedly being developed by Mandalay Sports Media, which has worked with the NBA, ESPN and AOL to produce sports-centric documentaries and films.

Xbox Entertainment Studios was founded earlier this year with the mission to develop "true interactive content for Xbox and other devices that will change the way entertainment content is experienced and delivered." The studio is lead by former CBS executive Nancy Tellem.

At E3 2013, Tellem and 343 Industries general manager Bonnie Ross announced a live-action Halo series set to be produced by Steven Spielberg. Microsoft Studios head Phil Spencer said the program was one of "hundreds of ideas" incubating at the studio.

Soccer lovers will love this. A match at the world cup is insane.

Cool idea. Interested to see how it turns out. I don't really like soccer though, so I'm more interested in hearing about the halo series we were promised.

I'm not to crazy about soccer but I love documentaries. That Halo series is going to rock bro."Steven Spielberg" nuff said.

I love soccer ( or football in the civilized world), but I have no interest in this. This is not soccer.

Yeah. First of many ideas so regardless if we're into this sort of thing isn't really the discussion. It does prove however that MS is taking this television and film content seriously!.............I'm game! ;)
