Development is reportedly to be led by former PlatinumGames head Tatsuya Minami.

VGC reports that Capcom plans to release a Resident Evil 4 remake in 2022. The report cites “multiple development sources” who indicate that the RE4 remake is now in full production.

According VGC, development is being handled by the Osaka-based, Capcom-backed M-Two studio of former PlatinumGames head Tatsuya Minami. This strategy would line up with the development of the Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes, which made use of blended teams of external Capcom studios and Capcom internal assets. VGC reports that the remake is being undertaken with the tacit blessing of original Resident Evil 4 game director Shinji Mikami, who apparently declined to take lead on the project but "provided informal advice."

Resident Evil 4 was first released in 2005 for the GameCube and PS2, with several re-releases and remasters on later consoles through to the current generation. It came to PC in 2007, and is considered by many to be the finest game in the Resident Evil series and a definitive game of the 2000s.

Kind of torn with this. I bought both RE2 and RE3 remake. While RE2 was sublime, RE3 remake was hit or miss and left out alot of the puzzles and other things that were in OG RE3.
I hope Capcom doesn't cannabilize a RE4 remake because that is the greatest RE ever made IMHO.

Code veronica is a better Resident Evil than every (new, not remake) game in the series that came after.
RE4 holds up gameplay wise and doesn't need to be remade yet imo, Code Veronica however does.

Yeah...I didn't really have a problem with them tbh, not at all as bad as the og tank controls combined with predetermined angles.
There's a kind of flow to the combat, you shoot, kick, knife when they go down and use the 180 spin to make distance. The only thing that could be added is perhaps ability to strafe, or options to control as the usual 3rd person game. Either way, a remake isn't necessary imo.

If they don’t add the ability to move while aiming it’s a hard pass for me. Loved the game when it released but super awkward to play now

Britney Spear is no longer just a long-term escort mission? I don't want her to distract enemies, I just want her to stay quietly at one corner away from harm....
They should make her unkillable like other side kicks like the emo boi in God of war.

How...???

It was literally on like....everything.
Also on the best list of games for like years. LMAO.

My friend played it multiple times and kept telling me how good it was and I got put off by his constant bragging lol.

I think it also launched initially on Gamecube and I didn't have one when it first released?
