Retro Studios "Wii U a powerhouse"

Never played a Metroid game but I'd be willing to give it a shot. I'd still rather have Star Fox but I'll take what I can get.

lol no sirs. Maybe I'll try to find a ROM for the SNES version to check it out. I remember seeing the game on N64 or GameCube but I didn't own either of them.

Damn son! At the least play Super Metroid, one of my all time favorite games. It's available on virtual console I believe, if not ROM it up, excellent game. The Retro studios Prime games were boss too.

Hmm...what Nintendo franchise is capable of showing off a powerhouse system?

Metroid.

Retro, make it happen.

Reven gameplay vid. Not Metroid but it looks pretty good so far and I believe it is coming to WiiU Eshop

possibly need a indie thread just for titles like this ?

Looks really good. I'm a sucker for anything Metroidesce, one of my favorite game types.

Retro studios says the Wii U isn't as gimped as people make it out to be. They're also working on another Wii U game now that DKC:TF is done, hopefully a new Metriod :)

Many people have been preparing the "I told you so" dance just for that occasion and soon they will be able to do so. As it seems the Wii U can draw a lot more power than 30 watts. It might not be as modern as the other two in the race, but only a fool would count out Nintendo just because the Console is smaller and uses different hardware. The Gamecube also really had some neat tricks in it. The shaders possible on Nintendo's entry are far beyond what a PS3 or 360 can do, yet the fanboys keep insisting it is less powerful.

Bayonetta 2 already gives us some taste of how crisp things can look :).
