Tom Clancy, thriller writer and the man whose name launched what seems like a thousand video game titles is dead in the USA at the age of 66.
Ubisoft, which publishes Clancy related titles such as Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon, has already published its corporate sadness.
Clancy died in Baltimore and his death was confirmed by his UK publisher, Penguin Books. It is not expected that the author's death will stem the flow of games that carry his name.
Guy was probably top three in most well known authors. Not sure where his books will stand in the test of time, but he's a pop culture figure in my opinion.
He left to do some Ghost Recon. Turns out God is the real Command Authority. He has repaid his Debt of Honor. Let's hope he left some Executive Orders for his loved ones.
