@Swede ever thought Ken from Barbie could look like this?

He looks like that during many of his movies, he shrinks down almost immediately after though, so I'm confident he is put on a light cycle of some test or other PED a few months before filming begins.
Not that impressive tbh, pretty much what you'd expect.

Better than playing batman and refuse to workout like twinky Patterson though.

What’s PED?

Looks great. But this also makes me want to watch the original before watching the remake since I have never seen the og.

Just finished it. Ehhhhh, this is tough. With remakes I usually find it would better if it didn’t have the original to compare it to.

It’s a pale imitiaton of the original, but it has its moments. There are some good fight and action scenes, but they are marred by crappy CGI. At times it felt the Fast and the Furious. MacGregor makes a good bad guy, but his acting is over the top and turns him into almost a Marvel character.

My main complaint is Gyllenhall’s Dalton is just kinda flat. Besides being a former MMA fighter with a past, he’s just not that interesting. Most of his lines are delivered in this monotone cardboard-ness, and at the end of the day it’s hard to care about him. Even the love interest part is negligible at best.

Again, if this was a brand new movie I’d probably give it more like a 73/100. But I love the original and I had more hope for this one. It’s worth a watch, but I’m a little disappointed after waiting so long.

68/100

Pretty much what I said.

But in regards of caring about Dalton and his monotone delivery I can't help but think this is done purposely to convey a lack of interest or caring in life from Dalton himself. Which would have been fine if that changed over the duration of the movie as his relationships with other characters grow.

The fights look so strange in this at times. The camera work just comes off like they are trying to hide bad CGI but actually makes it stand out more. Also didn't need to be that long.

Agreed. Like unnecessarily bad. I keep hearing 'but you must not enjoy modern movies!' when I make this complaint. And again, I blame the fast and the furious for this. Most of those movies are like cotton candy pop music...all visual, no substance with over the top action sequences that could have been great but ended up turning too unbelievable, just like F and F.

This movie has a bit more substance, but most of the time I kept wanting to care more about the characters. It never happened. When Jake goes 'you don't want to see me angry' it was so flat I started laughing. They went from Swayze's cerebral bouncer with a Masters in Philosophy to basicallly a sociopath with practically no emotion. And then the main bad guy's dad is just a voice on the phone the whole movie?

And then, the ending was terrible:

Macgregor gets stabbed a dozen times, and finished off with two killing blows, but then walks out of the hospital like nothing happened?? Is this a Marvel movie?

I know the cops were after Jake, but he just leaves, not giving a s*** about the people he's developed relationships with...? There is start of a romantic interest then before anything good happens it's 'bye!' Did he forget how lonely he was at the beginning, almost killing himself? And that he's famous, so good luck hiding anywhere anyways...?[
