Don’t they own like 40+ percent of OpenAI?

If most of their employees leave for MS they’re pretty much getting them for free, like GamePass, they’re already paying for it but getting some perks?

Will suck if it hurts OAI and they have to let go of people to try and recover

If the CEO and nearly all the talent leave and go to MS, its like they bought OpenAI for half of its stated value. That's nearly unheard of in the tech world. Outside of have to on-board hundreds of employees and set up a new division, this would be a huge win for MS and it avoids regulators completely.

So..... I've been finding this all very fascinating for Generative A.I. Art and I do think it takes time and skill almost like a Programmer writing a Function. Yet, it in a way, it is to varying degrees derivative.

I'm kind of left wondering if it has practical value or just an amazing toy? Or does it have 'Fair Use' application such as Satire or Memes?

Also, at least in Midjourney, you can cite specific artists in a Prompt which would be questionalbe commercially, but you can also cite general styles like Anime or Cyberpunk or Film Noir. I'm not sure if Artists would still be angry at that.

I'm kind of thinking a reasonable use I'm poking at is awesome Textures to put on 3D objects. Even if it borrows a bit in 'style' in some vague way, it still fits on the 3D work that I made. ( Ahem, maybe I should clarify use them in my personal VRChat avatar project )

Still find this fascinating and ridiculous. Midjourney and the Anime version Niji Journey have upgraded to Version 6.

I still use it Personally and not for Commercial use. I still think the profit off of 'Scraped' art on the web idea is tempting but in a weird ethical space.

Mostly participate in A.I. Facebook Art groups, post stupidly advanced Memes, but also it's and odd way to have perspective on how powerful A.I. is and it's just getting started.

It is still surreal AF to me I can just type a description prompt and get a generated image.
