I said this in the general playstation thread and I'll say it here, I don't believe this to begin with and I don't think it would be good for the industry but I get why they could possibly want to do it.

This does make more sense than the idea some were pushing for MS to pick up EA because unlike EA, Take two has several HUGE IP's that they own, they aren't as dependent on licensed products. They'd probably still be able to make NBA 2K exclusive too because unlike EA's deal with the NFL there is no exclusivity with the NBA, other companies are free to make NBA games. I know this rumor seems to be sourced back to Wedbush which is who Michael Pachter works for and he's been pushing for someone to buy take two for years, he wanted EA to do it before GTAV came out.

I don't know what the financial details of something like this would be but I think take two is valued somewhere around 10 billion and Sony is close to 60 billion, this just doesn't seem like a realistic thing for a company to do, they'd have to spend a ton of money and then take on thousands of new employees.
