Ryse Son of Rome

You know what. f*** Legendary mode. Not because I'm getting killed but because of the bulls*** 'kill the archers' part about half way through the 'Trial By Fire' level.

My squads moral is gone long before my archers even look like showing up.
Is that the part where you have to kill all those archers with pilums? If it is, that was the part I was referring to earlier.

Yep, shortly after you reach the shore.(last years demo) Its what I call bulls***.

watch a youtube video for it.. that was the only way i beat it after many tries. its a very cheap section

Believe it or not it can be done. There is an order of attack that you take them out in that triggers your archers to join in sooner. Its something to the effect of killing the 2 on the right first, then you kill like 6 on the left, by then there are 2/3 more on your right, if Im not mistaken when you kill the 2/3 on the right (there will still be archers firing on your left)it triggers your archers to join the battle.

Yeah, that was the only truly frustrating part of the game for me. I watched a video on how to do it and did it easily after that. There's no shame in following a video when a game presents a cheap section like that.

We all know that part, lol. You have to get on the ground and get close enough to do quick-throws at the archers on the rooftops. It's impossible to do with the aimed throw. There was a youtube vid? Lol, I just kinda died a lot and muscled my way through it!

So playing this game, I've noticed that NPCs can be a bit of an after thought in places. You'll see a bit of an odd uniformity to the NPCs breaking through geometry. Makes me wish that Crytek left some areas empty as half-hearted NPCs can hurt the immersion more than emptiness in my opinion.

Now this right here is a much better example of how NPCs should be done. Especially when you try to sell the subject of death. The wide open area is filled and no mistakes seem to be made. Also, I can see up that man's skirt. [HASHTAG]#sexy[/HASHTAG]

Some RYSE screenshots. God I love this game. It's so damn awesome and the combat feels really good. Thinking about doing a speedart video. The world of Ryse is just very inspiring.

I really want to love the online mode of this game but it feels so broken. In execution mode and the second I come out of it before I can do anything I'm hit from behind by an enemy. The camera is wonky as hell meaning more than likely you will get hit trying to attack someone because you can't position it right. I've also had numerous times of trying to hit a button but of course you're one centimeter away so your guy hits his shield with his sword instead of blocking. It's especially hard coming from the great combat of Bloodborne to this one. If they make a sequel they need to tighten up the controls.

really? I haven't had any problems racking up hundred hit combos. You can control the camera it gets in a weird spot. Initiating executions is a great way to get out of trouble, too. You do have to be careful of who you are engaging in what order, because you can get them to initiate an attack that doubles with another enemy. What the game really needs is a dual parry system, imo.

There are times when I can get a really long combo but other times I just want to smash the controller. And don't get me started on survival mode when you bleed out waiting for more enemies to spawn.

The trick is to save up focus in my opinion. You can rack up some major combos that way. My initial impression of Ryse MP was nobody playing, but after playing it recently, I'm having quite a bit of fun.

Beat the campaign. Great game. Great story. Fantastic production. Brilliant visuals. Everything was just so damn good. Can't believe people call this game bad, it's a f***ing masterpiece! Can't wait to try more of the online multiplayer too!
nah, nah, told you so... :tounge:
