Anecdotal. My cousin here in Fl works at a gamestop, and told me they have a bunch of new and used 360s, much more than PS3s.

Not sure of your point since this was about Sony Shipped units. Point being that shipped doesn't mean in end users hands so they may have shipped that many to retailers but they ain't been sold yet. We have a bunch of used triples and 360's too, probably due to peeps trading them in towards their new 4's and One's. But you already knew that.

I did know that, however, it was obivious that you singeled PS3 out, but not included 360s as having shipped units as well. And yeah, to Sony and MS, they sold those units to retailers....so in end user hands or not...it's out of their hands.

If numbers are dismissed for Sony, should be as well for MS.

Tit for tat. We were speaking of the triple. No reason to bring in MS unless you are one of those butt hurt Sony fanboys who can't just accept they they got their butts whipped by Nintendo.

Not at all, doesn't matter to me whether or not they sold 80 mil or 20 mil. Just saying, some people trying to deceptively make a point to go out of their way to bring up that the numbers are shipped for PS3 while not talking about the fact that the same also applied to 360 is just that....people trying to be deceptive.

Sure it does, if it didn't you wouldn't have brought up the 360 in the Sony sub forums on a topic about shipped triple consoles.

I can be part of the conversation, without me really caring about how much were sold.

Let me ask you a question....are you vested in how many were sold?

Just ignore him. If you wrote on the Xbox board how Nintendo Wii whipped the 360, the next post would be how MS (360) did versus Sony (PS3) but here you're getting the third degree.

Yep, because since I am an employee in the industry the more consoles sold means more gamers needing games which means more sales which means higher stock prices (that I own) which means more hours and money for me. Don't care if it's Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft, Valve, Your Mother, Jesus or whoever else makes a console.

While I am personally a MS fan I want them all to succeed because the more they sell the more I make.

Now on the other hand do you have the ability to stick to the topic at hand and leave MS and the others out of a Sony centric thread, the evidence so far isn't in your favor.

I remember Ape when all he used to do is post in the Off Topic section of TXB...

the question is which console will be the first to reach 100 million? The PS3 vs 360 war isn't over yet. It doesn't just end when the new boxes are released. These consoles will still have support just like the PS2 did and it went on to sale 40 million more units.
This holiday season will be big for current gen systems as they will be filler for those not fortunate enough to get or afford next gen, not to mention holiday reduced pricing and bundles.

Think both missed their chance to push for the 100m mark. Hell the Wii just crawled over it and for a long time it looked like doing PS2 numbers.

http://www.joystiq.com/2013/11/14/october-npd-xbox-360-reclaims-the-console-throne-software-sale

Physical video game software sales in the U.S. were up 12 percent in October to $482.5 million, compared with the same period in 2012, NPD reports. This marks the third month in a row that software sales have been up year-over-year.

Games leading the sales charge include Grand Theft Auto 5, which clung to its top spot, and Pokemon X and Y, which took No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. Batman: Arkham Originsand Assassins' Creed 4: Black Flag both launched late in October but claimed spots 5 and 6. Peep the full list after the break.

Gaming hardware sales dropped 8 percent year-over-year to $171.7 million, with the 3DS leading the pack for the sixth month straight. The Xbox 360 was the No. 1 console again in October, after the PS3 ruined its streak in September.

Sales of gaming accessories rose 1 percent last month, due to an increase of more than 70 percent in the Interactive Gaming Toys department – meaning Skylanders and Disney Infinity pieces – NPD analyst Liam Callahan says.

Next month will be a very different NPD, with the launch of the PS4 tomorrow and the Xbox One next week. Check out our latest PS4 launch coverage (now with Vines!) right here.
  1. Grand Theft Auto V (360, PS3)
  2. Pokemon X (3DS)
  3. Pokemon Y (3DS)
  4. Battlefield 4 (360, PS3, PC)
  5. Batman: Arkham Origins (360, PS3, NWU, PC)
  6. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (360, PS3, NWU)
  7. NBA 2K14 (360, PS3, PC)
  8. Skylanders SWAP Force (WII, 360, PS3, NWU, 3DS)
  9. Lego Marvel Super Heroes (360, PS3, NWU, 3DS, PSV, PC)
  10. WWE 2K14 (360, PS3)

I'll be rooting for Arkham Origins and WWE 2k14. Origins turned out really fun and I'm planning on getting the new WWE game. The 30 Years of Wrestlemania campaign they have just looks awesome.

January could be stretched out between both XBox and PS consoles with the U left out in cold.

Two big games in Mario and Zelda coming out for the Wii U on Nov 22nd, so I would hope that would help sales going into the holiday season, but you're probably right, it'll trail Sony and MS considerably.

Yeah I hope Mario helps Wii-U..

But I have my doubts. Wii-U has millions of units out there.. those people almost all bought the existing 2D Mario Game... and Mario really isn't some incredibly exciting sales force.. those games usually have legs.. almost everyone who owns a Nintendo console eventually buys the Mario releases.. but they don't have crazy launch sales or sales hype behind them.

Mario as a "system seller" may have already happened.

According to sales trackers in the UK, BF4 is outselling Call of Duty Ghosts in the territory.

Every Fall, EA and Activision’s biggest shooters compete for the sales crown around the world. This year, it’s Battlefield 4 vs Call of Duty Ghosts. And while Call of Duty may still have the sales edge on current gen platforms, when it comes to next generation consoles, it looks like Battlefield 4 is winning.
According to sales trackers in the UK, Battlefield 4 is ahead of Call of Duty Ghost on the PlayStation 4. The list is topped by Sony’s own shooter, Killzone Shadow Fall, while EA’s FIFA 14 takes the second spot. Battlefield 4 comes in at third. Regarding sales and market share, EA has said “they won’t give up until BF4 is number one“.
