Planning on picking up KH3 myself.
I wonder if that is good for DMC5.

Note those are shipped not sold, but here are sold totals for the other best-selling home consoles:

Wii 101 m
PS2 155 m
PS1 102 m

Everything else is in the rear view mirror at this point, except two Nintendo handhelds.

PS4 won't catch PS2, but it will pass PS1 and Wii late in 2020. So, it will end up being the #2 best selling console of all time.

Impressive and i said Switch would surpass xbo and end up in 2nd place.
I still see this happening which is also impressive.
Wii U ended this gen in 3rd. PS4 is in first and Xbox is second. Should be interesting to see how PS5 and Xbox 4 does against Switch for gen 9.

Yeah, it's hard to know what to do with Wii U and Switch numbers, because they kind of straddle generations. Fair to say Wii U ... um, underperformed.

Have Nintendo released any data to show what people use the switch more for docked or handheld?

Think I've used mine docked twice. But not touched it since ape out

Let me know what you think of KH3. I really prefer your reviews.

Thanks. I have no experience with KH, but I am processing some serious stuff in my life right now, and I felt like I needed something lighthearted and childlike/innocent as a break from that. The KH fans tell me I should play all the previous games first, but I can't be bothered with that. They tell me that if I'm not going to play the previous games, the least I could do is watch a video recap of the story. I tried to do that but quickly got bored with all of the nonsensical twists and turns. It seemed like a lot of overly convoluted nonsense. So, I'm going to play the game without understanding anything about the backstory. That'll probably detract from my enjoyment, but I don't care. I'll let you know what I think. I'm not sure if anyone else here has played it. I'll have to check for a thread.

If anyone cares about lifetime PS3 sales, Sony just reported on them in their recent financials. "More than 87.4 million," as of March 2017. From what I hear, last official numbers for the 360 were 84 m. But, as I say whenever this subject comes up, the 360 and PS3 were neck and neck, and arguing about which one "won" the generation is silly. Wolf or someone else usually points out Wii beat them both, which is also true.

I love that attitude and is the way I would look at it if I was to play it.

Knowing MS, they will never give us the final numbers for the 360 nor the Xbox One. Oh well.

Yeah, I mean I would say PS3 won if you put a gun to my head simply because it launched a year later so that means they basically won the time they were actually competing with each other but when all is said and done it really was a wash and frankly as much damage as the PS3 did to Sony financially I think it'd be hard to call that a win regardless of how many consoles sold, same with he 360 and RROD.

As far as the heavy stuff you mentioned you are going through in the other post, I hope whatever it is that it takes a turn for the better and gets sorted out soon.

Thanks, man. My dog died, and I quit my job. Neither are bad as they sound, though. I know there's an afterlife for animals, and I know she's okay. My main feeling is love and gratitude, but of course I feel a lot of sadness, too. I get very close to my dogs. So it hurt to lose her, at least in physical form.

As for quitting the job, that's a good thing, because I'm retiring in 2 months. I'm excited about that, because it means exploring new parts of myself and life, opening a new chapter. But it's also a big change and kind of sad, because I've been at my company for 20+ years and will miss a number of the people I work with.

I tend to be an over-thinker, so I'm doing lots of reading, watching, thinking, pondering, and feeling, related to both those subjects. It's all good, but it can get a little heavy and tiring sometimes. It's one reason I steered away from Days Gone and toward a game like KH3. I'm looking for a little pleasant distraction, rather than a world that is constantly trying to kill me.

If you quit, and you are retiring in 2 months, wouldn’t that really make you retired now? 😀

Ah got it!

Unless I am missing something from when you posted your age, you are rather young to retire. Will be at least 20 more years before I retire.

I'm 57, so yeah, it's an early retirement. I'm fortunate to be able to do that. I know I want to be completely retired for at least a year or two. I'm not sure what happens after that. I can't see that far ahead.

I'll probably end up relocating, which will be another big change. I'm in the deep south now, which is wonderful in some ways but not so great in others. I'd like to find a place that suits me a little better -- bigger city, farther north, less trad-con, with more stuff to do and some mountains to drive/hike. Looking at east TN at the moment.

Let me know if you make it to TN. Would love to stop by on my south travels!

Sorry to hear about your pup, that's always a hard thing to go through but at least you got to spend the time she had in life with her :) out of the hundreds of millions of people in this country you were lucky enough to be the one that got to have her in your life and that's a great thing. The pain wouldn't be there if the joy and love weren't there first :)

Congrats on the retirement, that's awesome that you get to do it well before you actually "have to" now you can enjoy your life without having to be tied to one place even if you did enjoy the people there. You can always keep in touch with them outside of work occasionally so at least they aren't gone forever.
