After disapointing cod and buggy battlefield....yeah.
On a 500 dollar console that has sold over 3 million.

Yeah. If your honestly considering getting a console, the difference of $100 is not going to matter much. Especially if your into home entertainment.

Right. If you say so.... As you said, "we'll see." But I get the feeling you should prepare yourself to be wrong......again.

Pray tell...how am I wrong now, and how was I wrong in the past?

Pre-orders aren't doing as well as you think, and neither is widespread interest.
Also, you're on crack if you think most gamers pay attention to E3, conferences, or what's being said on forums.
For reference:
1. if you add up the youtube views of titanfall from IGN, Gamespot, etc....they make up less than 4 million views (not including all the small odd video uploaders that don't get much views. And we all know quite a few of those views are repeated views.
2. TF is out in 10 weeks, and preorders on amazon are not that high, as indicated by the how high up in the best sellers list it's at. Again, a cruddy pc game expansion coming out later is garnering more interest.
3. There has been no bragging from publisher about how great pre-orders are. In contrast, for other past games, they're has always been articles talking about how high pre-orders are for certain games and how well they expect it to do. TF? Nada.
4. It took CoD a few games out the gate to get to where it's out popularity wise.
5. Halo has a huge fanbase for a game that everyone knows about, has been pimped in games, tv shows, live action commercials, books, toys in retails stores, etc. TF.....nada.

Feel free to say I'm wrong. Feel free to say I'm always wrong. That doesn't make it true. THe expectation that a new IP with no sp is going to outsell Halo is a far fetched expectation. Not saying it can't happen, stranger things have happened....just saying, it's highly unlikely, and winning a few best in show awards from a conference that most don't even know exist means nothing to the mass population of casuals.

We hear this talk HERE
You won't find a site on the net that is as lopsided towards xbox save the xb based sites.

you mean like all the other sites out there lopsided to the ps4?

This is good news, I hope it pushes sony even harder even though they have a slight lead. I really did not expect MS to be this close, I figured they would come on strong year 2-3. To put things in perspective 3 million units is 1/8 what the original xbox sold total :)

You can only sell as much as you can produce. PS4 selling out within hours or even minutes when new stock are available shows demand is still stronger than supplies.

Sony's ps brand is much more popular then ms Xbox brand.

Still doesn't mean the same holds true. PS sites are going to be incredibly lopsided in favor of PS brand, and Xbox sides lopsided in favor of xbox brands.

The PS4 has a week more sales and is $100 less per console. Makes sense.

4.2 x $400 = $1,680,000,000
3.1 x $500 = $1,550,000,000

Printing money! Now the PS4 just needs games.

exactly like samsung over sony now in tvs? Both exist and are well known brands. Leave "popularity" with the children in highscool please.

When you mention Nintendo to a person they know they're a videogame brand. Chances of them knowing they sold 20million more units than PS4 and xbox360 isn't important. Ask 50 people what an xbox is and they'll all tell you the same.

I think MS is actually making more money per console than Sony actually. Would be interesting to see how much they've made/lost so far but probably too far early for those numbers to mean much.

I don't know how reliable any of this is, and I admit, I didn't search hard, too busy at work to really look into it at this moment, maybe later, but I did a quick search, and it might be the other way around....with Sony making more per console. Of course, unless sony or MS comes out and says how much they make, it's all based on assumptions.

Analyst thinks Sony makes $100 per unit:

Analyst thinks MS makes $28 per unit:

My apologies to the fine folks of this thread, but the mental gymnastics you're going through to make the numbers say whatever you want them to are not actually burning off calories.

That's news to me. I was just going off what I had read before though so I could be wrong.

No, you could be right....or wrong. Remember, everything we hear is based on assumptions. We have no clue what kind of buying in bulk deals Sony or MS have. Both could be making more than what analysts say, or, could be losing a whole lot more. Either way, no one but Sony and MS knows what they make or lose per unit.

Last I read, I think MS made ~$30 and Sony made ~$20 per console.

not only that but 1 in particular is trying to explain how a well established brand is insubstantial and unproven & irrelevant because it isn't the brand he prefers.

I personally don't care who wins, but I just find all these justifications for why the Xbox One has less sales to be hilarious.

You can't handicap the PS4's sales because they chose not to include a $100 peripheral. And the week earlier argument doesn't hold water either because the One in fact launched a week earlier in Europe.

Also the Xbox One is now readily available online and in most locations, why does it matter if the Xbox One launched a week later in N.A., if anybody who wants one can just go buy one at the store or on amazon right this instant? How is that impacting sales negatively?

No more like any site that prefers ps over xb is biased according to people here, but in reality ps is just a much bigger brand and rightfully so as it dwarves xb in the number of consoles sold.

Current sales really mean nothing. I remember people saying ps4 would never catch up to 360 in numbers sold, and they did...with a year behind and higher price tag.

With the difference now being "only" about 1 million, xb1 could close in on the gap pretty quick.

Stop exaggerating.
