I care about games for both. Sure I want both companies to make money as that means more and better games in the future.

But really, sometimes this forum feels like "Union Video Game Sales Forum" rather than a site about the fun of gaming.

sadly when game arguments fail, it typically falls back on fankids to start spinning any sort of numbers they can. very rare to actually get a concerned, and informative thread based on sales.

Just saying that judging future success based on preorders is dumb when those figures DO NOT account for DD. Stupid to go there.

Unless the Christmas numbers show other wise it hasn't been enough for people to care.
Sure, but that's other people.
What does that have to do with your post that I quoted?
Unless I misread, it seemed as if you were somehow frustrated from waiting for games.
Which, strangely, was a valid stance back when you were championing the Wii U. Now that the games are coming through, you're experiencing some kind of months-late game-drought-lag?
It's pretty weird.

It's great news for both. Both are pretty much ensured fantastic support from 3rd parties right out of the gate. This will also bolster the confidence in the gaming divisions for both companies.

As for the Sony/MS sales war...

Sony's winning.

Big deal, the X1 is far from struggling and it's STILL going to get the MS published or paid-for exclusives and all the big multiplats.

So there's really no reason for people to be crowing about the sales gap. And even less reason to try to twist the numbers to somehow show that the X1 is winning.
Both consoles are fine, the difference is only big enough for industry beancounters to worry about. Won't be tangible to gamers. Just pick the console with games/controller/price that you like.

Sales have a direct relation to developers' support. You want the platform(s) you bought to at least sold decently & have a decent market share for developers to consider making contents for your platform.

But in the case of XB1 and PS4, the sales differences won't be that dramatically different. PS3 has plenty of support when there was an even larger difference.
As time goes by, I suspect the sales gap between xb1 and ps4 to lessen. There's going to be a healthy market for both platforms.

Kinda like people find it hilarious for all these justifications as to why the PS4 has more sales.

I don't care who wins either. I just like playing the games on both consoles.

WTf is this supposed to mean? lol why does ps4 need justifications for spanking xb1 in sells.

Did you forget about Wii U?

Wii U,"No one cares about me!" 3rd party support have been poor due to poor sales.

Wii U and Nintendo are a different story as for one the Wii U had low critical success from the start and 3rd party never did well on the last so many Nintendo consoles at all in comparison to MS's and Sony's. Those poor sales for 3rd party have existed for a very long time.

I take it that it would be unfair to post PC life-to-date hardware and software sales.

It's a mix of both I don't feel it has enough games (that I want) and its sales are a concern.

As I stated already I feel many of X1's sales were people/parents who couldn't snag a ps4 for Christmas and it being a new console Christmas time (Wii U sold good as well when released Christmas time)
I expect the ps4 to keep and widen its healthy lead.

I think your O is wrong, but hopefully not. That way they can convert , and then change the mind of their friends. Then I can be relax knowing that I was write in my purchase, and all the others are WRONG,insert evil laugh, mahahaha. I kid I kid.
Really the only thing I have to say is this is the most posts on any thread I created( thanks Anderson who actually created thread and giving me credit) It was all becouse I had the release date on the 4 wrong,LOL
If only me screwing up in the real world paid off as much.
C/S Although I've admitted to the mess up in a previous post. I'm starting to wonder if a thread should be made to people that will actually admit that they were wrong. Huh, man I'm bored. OK back to the bickering that some just don't seem to want to let go of, carry on

You can only sell as much as you can produce. PS4 selling out within hours or even minutes when new stock are available shows demand is still stronger than supplies.

true but no one is going to invest $500 for a console unless they think its worth it.

Could be true for some but I was getting the X1 day one regardless :) Microsoft will have some nice exclusives for the next few years and all the MP I wont be able to get for WiiU.

3ds is destroying EVERYTHING sales wise.

Good, because so far, this thread delivers.

A few things I've learned:

1. Most gamers pay attention to E3.
2. Sony has a secret stash of PS4s hiding somewhere
3. TF (a mp only game) will be the biggest console seller since Halo:CE. That's right, bigger seller than GoW, any other Halo, CoD, etc.
4. Valliance REALLY loves the PS brand (in a disturbing way)
5. Valliance thinks xbox sites are lopsided in xbox's favor....but doesn't see the irony in stating that.
6. An admission from Mcmasters being on crack
7. Valliance doesn't think a preference in PS is a bias, just that PS is a bigger brand.
8. In the grand scheme of things, a slight lead in sales mostly due to console coming out later actually amounts to it dwarfing the competition.
9. A new mp only exclusive that outside of gaming sites, forums, etc really hasn't gained tons of attention and has less interest than a pc game expansion that everyone complained about will be GoTY and outsell most games.
10. Qbert is wrong again

btw, the above is in jest, no need to take serious.

Post of the week right here.

Yeah, but nah.
Unless it's like a 2:8 imbalance, developers and publishers are not going to miss out on that 30+% of the market.
Gone are the bad old days of third parties choosing to make console exclusives because it costs too much to make a port. (except perhaps in the case of the Wii U because the hardware is significantly different to the others and the userbase is growing pretty slowly.)
There's no way that even in 2nd place the X1 will experience a lack of 3rd party support.

Doesn't change my argument, does it. Poor 3rd party support due to poor sales.
Well, assuming your argument was with what I said, since you quoted me, I was talking about the PS4 vs. X1. In which case, your argument no longer applies.
I thought it was obvious that I was referring to those two, but if not, my apologies.

You don't make a $500 purchase just because.....

You don't make a $500 purchase just because.....
yes you do when you got stores trying hard to sell them with sales people saying" no we don't have the PS4 but we do have the X1,
does the person/child have the 360 already then this is the new version" I seen it myself lol gotta sell them units!
The PS4 has distanced itself with a large lead and when it continues to do so then what?
No Christmas shoppers left to sell em X1's to and PS4's are becoming easier to purchase....ruh roh!
