anyone guessing how many units Xb1 sold in the US in Dec?

going by some WW NOV numbers I'm going to think out of 3mil sold WW that US would have 2.2Millon, UK 500k and rest of the 11 countries 300k.
so my guess would be 2.2mil - 900k for Nov = around 1.3million in DEC.

Hmmm....

X1 did 909k in Nov US NPD, then MS said by around Dec 9 that X1 was at 2M globally. Then 3M globally by end of year.

I think your 2.2M estimate will be pretty close. That's about 75% of the total 3M.

For Dec, I'll say US NPD is 1.4M. So overall, the 3M is 2.3M US, UK 400k, rest of the other 11 countries at 400k = 3.1M, as I think X1 is more like 3.1M by end of Dec. MS said X1 was "over 3M".

I mean I wouldn't be surprised if the X1 outsold the PS4 in December, MS did a great job restocking supply's in the US. Lets wait for official numbers though.

Read post afterward said it gave me a headache trying to find it.Alsobi asked if it was true. Don't think I said it was true

Seems like he was using vgchartz. In that case, lol. Not saying it couldn't happen, but I trust NPD more.

I don't think it matters even if it is true, the bottom line is Sony has over a million more in sales, PS4 is harder to find than X1 and has been for a while. Honestly if MS is to be number 1 next gen they'll likely have to dominate in the US again the way they did during the previous gen and I have a hard time seeing that happening. This is only the beginning so I'm not saying it's over for them, that would just be stupid but this surely isn't the kind of start they hoped to be off to when compared to the competition.

Ugh does it really matter which console us #1. Is anyone here going to get a perfect 10 model to give them a chance anyone, or is anyone going to get rich because a console us #1? No well then who cares. mahahaha. That's my evil laugh btw. Just trying to well..... Pass the time because I'm bored. Well at least with this thread.

It is the sales comparison thread, just saying.

All very true and no it doesn't really matter who's #1 as long as both companies are successful.

And you know this.....how?o_O

If Microsoft sees 3 million + in less than two months anything else than a success, then thats ridiculous. And pretty soon, if Sony doesnt get some AAA games down the pipeline to compete with Microsofts for 2014, that "more powerful, native 1080p" competitive edge they have, will disappear.

Fanboy warz aside: Its all about the games and experiences. Always has been. Not the resolutions. Not the hardware--the games and the experiences. We have an entire generation to see who offers the best of both and the one who has the better, will take home the gold.

I know man. It just seems like some on both sides act like their life depends in it. They take it WAY to seriously. Neither will be like the Dreamcast. Just trying to lighten the mood a bit.

Coolio.

Kind of just common sense don't you think? MS only really beat Sony in the US and UK last gen, they are starting off behind in both of those areas now. As I said it's not like it's over, and compared to the launch of the 360 they are doing quite well. The thing is they beat Sony by 15 million or so in sales in the US last gen, does anyone really believe that will happen this time? When a company has that kind of lead in a region over the competition do you really think they'd be happy coming out and not starting off ahead the next time? This is a race not a sprint don't get me wrong, none of this stuff will be decided for a long time but I highly doubt MS wanted to start off trailing Sony in sales in the NA and the UK.

When it comes to games we know pretty much everything MS has coming out until the end of the year and probably several of those games they announced at E3 will slip into 2015, they blew their load to over compensate for the disaster that was their X1 unveiling in May. Sony has a lot of studios that haven't announced their projects yet and I don't think anyone really doubts they'll have some big announcements coming this year.

The fact that Microsoft decided to launch after Sony, pretty much told them that they would probably be behind in sales. They were prepared for it Im sure. Probably accepted it seeing as they are 100$ more than their direct competition. Microsoft may be behind right now, but that doesnt mean they cant catch up. Considering this generation has just begun, anything is possible. Whoever has the best software holds the "keys to heaven".

How do you imagine that Microsoft blew their load? Was that a serious statement?o_O

If MS announce a new Crackdown (From the creators of the original not Ruffian) and finally give us a Shadow Complex sequel I may have to jump in.

See the mood has lightened, and went back to rational though. I'd sell my x1 for 1 night with a perfect 10 btw. Ooh would I sell it. Then go get another 1 when the night was over. Mahahahahaha. Hey that would help with X1 sales! This is of course a sales thread.

Yes it was serious, they announced a game from every studio they have just about, some of which aren't going to be ready for a while so yes that was a serious statement. I also don't think they "decided" to launch after Sony but that Sony was just able to get to market a little sooner.

Microsoft could've launched whenever they wanted to. They could've beat Sony to launch if it was THAT important. But they'd made their decision. And you're making the mistake of thinking Microsoft will do what they did with the 360. But they've already committed publicly to bringing new IP's to the platform. Not to mention Sony devs take some time to release games. Take the Last Guardian for example....

You honestly think MS wouldn't have launched first if they could have?
