I bought a PS4 no one else on my block bought a new gen system, so PS4 wins. End Thread

You're comin' unglued, dude. Go look at some Christmas lights, pet your dog, hang your stockings, listen to some good music, kiss your wife or girlfriend, have some hot chocolate or spiked eggnog ... do something besides worry about whether the metrics are vindicated or whether other people on a gaming forum (who you will never meet) like or approve of you. It ain't worth getting upset about.
Funny thing is he doesn't even have a PS4 yet.

Thanks to you, 2013 was an incredible year for gamers, entertainment fans, our industry and Xbox. With Xbox One we saw the most epic launch for Xbox by all measures. We are humbled and grateful for your loyalty and delighted by the millions of hours of gameplay and entertainment enjoyed on Xbox.

Together, we ushered in a new era of games and entertainment with Xbox One. Over 3 million Xbox One consoles were sold to consumers in 13 countries before the end of 2013. It’s been incredible to see Xbox One selling at a record-setting pace for Xbox, and we were honored to see Xbox One become the fastest-selling console in the U.S. during our launch month in November. Since our launch, demand for Xbox One has been strong, selling out throughout the holidays at most retailers worldwide. We are continuing to work hard to deliver additional consoles to retailers as fast as possible.

The reaction from our fans was mind-blowing for our team. As we see your excitement, your energy and your hours of gameplay, we continue to be inspired to do great work – for you. Whether you’re racing through the streets of Prague in “Forza Motorsport 5,” creating crazy weapons for zombie destruction in “Dead Rising 3,” exploring the Colosseum in Gladiator mode in “Ryse: Son of Rome,” helping your children create their own personal zoo in “Zoo Tycoon,” or enjoying epic multiplayer battles, we love that you’re having fun on Xbox One.

We also love that you are seeing the promise of an all-in-one entertainment system. Millions of hours of live TV have been watched and millions of hours of app entertainment have been enjoyed. We are proud to have the most passionate, engaged, and simply the best fans in the world. It was fun to share the holidays with so many of you.

We’re excited for the year ahead and will be working hard to bring Xbox One to more fans and more markets around the globe. 2014 will be a promising year with many more great games on the way for Xbox One including “Titanfall,” “Watch_Dogs,” “Project Spark,” “Sunset Overdrive,” “Tom Clancy’s The Division,” “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt,” “Destiny,” “Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare,” and “The Elder Scrolls Online,” among others. More games, more features, more content, more fun – all coming your way this year.

Thank you for making 2013 truly epic for Xbox and here’s to 2014!

That's a pretty good number. Lets see if they can keep the momentum.-

Cool. It is nice to see them succeed so well this early.

3 million is a crazy number. Looks like the xb1 has a good buy in rate. I reckon ps4 most be 4 million given it seems to have sold more than the xb1

Yea, one would think so, but you'd assume that Sony would have announced 3 million units sold if they have hit that mark considering how big of a milestone it is.

Xbox One's are readily available all around the Chicagoland area, yet PS4's are not in stock anywhere.

My guess is that Sony is having some supply issues or keeping it cards close to its chest in order to One-Up the Xbox's numbers.

Or...maybe people simply aren't buying the PS4 right now due to its lack of any must-have exclusives at least through Summer 2014. But as mentioned, there are not PS4's on sale anywhere right now, so I doubt this is the issue.

Great news, Xbone seems to be doing quite well despite online perception.

I doubt that is the actual reason for low stock. They are simply spread thin, by the fact that they have launched in way more countries.

Congrats to MS and their team! The XBOX ONE is a great console and I can't wait to see it continue to add great games and even more features.

My post was relevant to the discussion at hand. I don't need you to tell me what I can and can't post about. Ok?

On a side note it will be interesting to see what type of impact Titanfall will have on these numbers.

I'm interested in seeing what the ship numbers are like. I'm guessing 3.4 to 3.5 million, meaning there is about 200K to 300K in the supply chain which is still well below that needed 1 million number that guarantees steady flow of supply for the demand.

I'm sure MS is feeling pretty good about their chances this generation right about now.

Uh, yeah no doubt. I imagine champagne is popping corks everywhere at Redmond. Just insane number. Who whudda thunk. I was thinking about a million. Never would have guessed 3 million at $500 a pop.
