Sorry to hear about your pup, that's always a hard thing to go through but at least you got to spend the time she had in life with her :) out of the hundreds of millions of people in this country you were lucky enough to be the one that got to have her in your life and that's an great thing. The pain wouldn't be there if the joy and love weren't there first :)

Congrats on the retirement, that's awesome that you get to do it well before you actually "have to" now you can enjoy your life without having to be tied to one place even if you did enjoy the people there. You can always keep in touch with them outside of work occasionally so at least they aren't gone forever.

Thanks, JinCA. Appreciate it. :)

Thanks, man. My dog died, and I quit my job. Neither are bad as they sound, though. I know there's an afterlife for animals, and I know she's okay. My main feeling is love and gratitude, but of course I feel a lot of sadness, too. I get very close to my dogs. So it hurt to lose her, at least in physical form.

As for quitting the job, that's a good thing, because I'm retiring in 2 months. I'm excited about that, because it means exploring new parts of myself and life, opening a new chapter. But it's also a big change and kind of sad, because I've been at my company for 20+ years and will miss a number of the people I work with.

I tend to be an over-thinker, so I'm doing lots of reading, watching, thinking, pondering, and feeling, related to both those subjects. It's all good, but it can get a little heavy and tiring sometimes. It's one reason I steered away from Days Gone and toward a game like KH3. I'm looking for a little pleasant distraction, rather than a world that is constantly trying to kill me.
Sorry for your loss :(
Enjoy the retirement.

UK weekly sales, physical only:

1 Days Gone
2 Mortal Kombat 11
3 FIFA 19
4 Red Dead Redemption 2
5 Tom Clancy's The Division 2
6 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
7 Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
8 Forza Horizon 4
9 New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe

10 World War Z

"Sony's Days Gone comfortably beat Mortal Kombat 11 in the UK boxed games charts.

Its launch week physical sales are 27% lower than last year's PS4 exclusive action adventure God of War. It is actually a decent performance when you consider this is a new IP - and the review scores for this new game have not been as impressive as last year's multi-award winning effort.

Mortal Kombat 11 had to settle for No.2 as a result. The game's debut performance is 43.6% smaller than 2015's Mortal Kombat X...."

Glad WWZ is on there for a smaller game. The game is solid. I still have to get back at it, but been busy with Days Gone.

Yeah, no way this game is a 6. I can understand 7, but not below that. I'd give it an 8 at least, so far (although I'm only a couple hours in).

I represent one of those GTA 5s, well, for the US numbers anyway. I finally found it on sale for 20 bucks on XBL. I have the 360 version, but wanted to get the upgraded one. I'm a bit sad they didn't do a 4k update for the X, but otherwise it still looks incredible. I love all the cinematic DoF and I have completely forgotten how fantastic the game is.

I usually play the good guy, but for some reason GTA makes it impossible not lay down Haymakers on random passers-by. This game consistently draws an involuntary smile on my face. So good...

Did you know some people actually play the game by following the rules of the road? Stopping at stop lights, staying far enough behind the car in front of them, driving at the pace of traffic. Like a sim. I watched two different streams on Twitch a few weeks ago and saw it on both streams.

Hell, I can't even do that in Forza Horizon. I have tried. I take turns, stop at stop signs,....then I was like f*** this s***.....hard left and off the cliff I go smashing every tree in sight.

GTAV, I run over and into everyone!

Which puts it only 8.05 million ahead of the Vita and 8.126 [sic] million ahead of the Xbox One.

Yeah, I was wondering how long it took Switch to pass the Xbox One totals in Japan. Probably a couple of weeks, lol.

No surprise here, but EA has admitted that Anthem did not meet sales expectations.

I think if you picked the single largest retailer in Japan (or at least, the one that sold the most Switches), it could have passed the XB1 with just their first day's pre-order volume. Maybe hours or minutes, depending on if they pre-announced when they'd accept pre-orders.

Yeah, probably true...

Bethesda's Rage 2 has ended Days Gone's three week stint at the top of the UK Boxed Charts.

Despite charting a place higher than the first game (Rage launched the week after FIFA 12 back in October 2011), the sequel hasn't come close to matching the original. In fact, Rage 2 physical sales are just a quarter of what the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC game manage.

The game sold best on PS4, accounting for 57% of sales, followed by Xbox One on 38%. PC accounted for 5%, although the majority of PC sales will have come via Steam.

It continues to be a weak physical games market, which does mean some more unusual games are managing to score decent chart positions. A Plague's Tale: Innocence from Asobo Studios and Focus Home Interactive manages to reach No.9.

The only other new game in the Top 40 is the remastered version of Sniper Elite Version 2, which makes No.13 - just 100 units from reaching the Top Ten. The game sold best on PS4 (49% of sales), followed by Xbox One (30%) and then Nintendo Switch (21%).

Last week's No.1 Days Gone drops to No.2 with a 38% fall in sales, Mortal Kombat 11 moves from No.2 to No.4 (down 47%). The game performed solidly last week due to a Switch version landing at retail. Meanwhile, last week's new release, Saints Row: The Third - The Full Package on Nintendo Switch, drops from No.15 to No.38 (down 57%).

Sneaking in at No.40 is Xbox's pirate adventure game Sea of Thieves. The title has seen an increase in sales over the last two weeks following its inclusion in the new All-Digital Xbox One console.

I can't believe GTA 5 is still there... Oh wait... Yeah I can. It's. Always. There....

As of May 14th they've sold over 110 Million copies... Bested only by Mine Craft and Tetris.. Damn... And that game rarely goes as low as 20 bucks...

And RDR is no where to be found? I think it's time for GTA VI!

UK results for the week:

New 1 Team Sonic Racing
2 Days Gone
3 FIFA 19
4 Rage 2
5 Red Dead Redemption II
6Tom Clancy's The Division 2
7 Mortal Kombat 11
8 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
9 Grand Theft Auto V
10 Forza Horizon 4

That's the first Sonic game in 11 years to take #1. It sold twice what the last Sonic game did. Note that it's not a $60 game, though, and we're talking copies sold, not revenue.

Rage 2 dropped from 1st to 4th, which is a 73% fall (not abnormal after a debut week, afaik). Days Gone showed a smaller decline and held at #2. The only other new release in the top 40 was Everybody's Golf for PSVR, which came in at 22.

Part of that has to do with Nintendo getting a version.
It might be number one on 4 platforms...I wonder how the PC version did?

Well yeah you can't be number one on all 3 consoles if you don't release on all 3 consoles ;)
