Miles #1, Biomutant #2, The Last of Us 2 #3

"Biomutant, had to settle for second place. In terms of boxed sales, 71% was of the PS4 version, 28% for the Xbox One version and 1% for the PC version (of course, that make up will be very different once we get the digital data in)."

PS5 leading in the UK at the #1 spot.

Looks like Sony's strat of focusing on MS's strongest regions working.

50+ million PS5's in 2 years and change is the estimate.

Be surprised considering its been out over 6 months now and still out of stock for 99% of the month.

Neither Sony or MS seem to have improved supply issues

Yep and in case anyone is confused the Xbox is catching up to the switch not the PS5, he clarified that later in the tweet thread.

Sony and Microsoft are increasingly banking on next-generation gaming consoles to solidify their position in the industry amid soaring demand. However, based on estimated revenue, Sony appears to be winning the battle.

According to data acquired by Finbold, Sony’s Playstation 5 has generated an estimated $3.8 billion in revenue from selling about 8.6 million consoles with an average price of $449.99 per unit. Microsoft’s Xbox X/S revenue stands at an estimated $2.04 billion globally, selling 5.12 million units at an estimated $399.99 per console price. Cumulatively, both consoles generated revenue of about $5.92 billion.

Comparatively, the PlayStation sold 3,520,000 PS5 units more than Xbox’s X/S series consoles. Elsewhere, PlayStation 5 revenue is 89.42% higher compared to Xbox’s X/S revenue.

Sony is winning the battle based on the revenue mainly due to exclusive titles that remain a significant selling point. Notably, Microsoft is usually seen as lagging in exclusive titles, but the company is working towards catching up with new investments. Overall, the two manufacturers are betting on software and services to drive revenues for their latest game consoles.

I'm sure Sony's is close because Sony releases their numbers. Xbox, probably way off.

By buying studios & making the games from them NOT available on competitors' platforms.

I hope all these business stop the "How we are such a good people", "we care for environment" "we want to make the world a better place, virtue signal nonsense & just show us the products & service they are selling.

Have a good E3 showcase, games, games games, then we talk.

No surprise at the No.1

Biomutant with a very quick drop and will likely be out the top 40 next week.

But as always this only tells a small part of the story as No digital sales included.

Insomniac deserves all the success releasing 2 highly polished and well received games in a span of 8 months. If you bought a PS5 and don't own both games, I'm not really sure why you got 1 in the first place. These are amazing launch year games.

At No.9, we have Torn Banner's Chivalry 2. The game sold best on PS5 (41% of sales), followed by the Xbox Series machines (32%) and then PS4 (36%).

What does this even mean? So 77% sold on PS platform and 32% on XS , that's more than 100% of sales. Also did it sell negative percentage on all the other platforms 🤣

Math is hard. Stop being mean.

May 2021 NPD

RE8 #1 no surprise. Returnal continuing to do well, went up one spot from April. Days Gone jumped to #20 surprisingly.
