Because scalpers are going to try and sell them with pros.
And they know Sony are going to raise the prices over the next month or 2..

Astro bot is best selling game on USA Amazon and disc drive is trending right after that. I'm sure we will see it chart for September.

Lets say hypothetically 13% is an accurate representation of the hardcore that buy the PS5 Pro. You could still see it average out to around 10% of PS5 owners getting a Pro, which is roughly what the PS4: PS4 Pro ratio was.
I used to post Amazon charting information here, but was quickly told it doesn't count.

Without any evidence, I think the Pro will sell decently enough. More than enough to cover the R&D, production cost and turn a slight profit. Not enough to drastically move the profit margins for the PS5 sku overall.
