So you have all those numbers? Nobody plays COD more than a month or two? BO7 isn't looking as popular, but BO6 was huge (and had no competition. Nothing off microtransactions?
The fact that 82% of launch sales in the US were on PS5 and 86% in Europe I think that kind of tells you all you need to know.

Of course, some play longer than 2 months lol, many do but they aren't as invested in it either since they don't own it. It's also being reported they lost $300 million in sales due to putting it on GP, that combined with this price hike kind of lead a logical person to that conclusion IMO.

They’ve been upfront that to them it will cost them some sales, they even stated that in court.

If it was really wasn’t working or burting them then they’d cancel it and move on. Just like they’ve done before in the past. And that’s something we, here, know.

Those that follow anything touching Xbox here know the culprits are Hood and Nutella, hell the latter had an incentive to make it grow but did nothing to do so even at the cost of own pay bonuses. He failed it and moved on.

Satya definitely don't care about gaming and is all about the numbers. Phil I can see tries to be for the gamer at times with his intentions but he has no choice in the matter. Unfortunately Satya's in charge so everyone needs to listen to him.

The article is saying they are losing sales to... themselves. That's absurd. They can't steal their own money.

But the article is saying it can diminish your revenue especially if the people just try it and then drop it in a short time as that's what a lot of people do on the service according to their data themselves. At least with the sale , you already secured that one time $70-80 USD payment which might incentivize people to keep playing with DLC and MT's.

One would think he’d be allowed to run his division, much like Sony runs PlayStation separately but understands (to a point) of what’s needed. But, Nutella is also not a creative and definitely doesn’t understand or even care to let their people charge so their thing. Phil started in the game industry as a dev, well as an intern that went into gaming and understands it but now he’s gotta do what the hood, Nutella and shareholders want. It’s sad Nutella didn’t give him prove himself with his new armada of developers. Nutella even said he understands why exclusives are a thing. I think he got butt hurt by that money going to Xbox and then seeing another opportunity for AI as the next big thing and couldn’t justify spending more money, that they have already to make more investments, and they’d rather let others do the work for them instead, even if they were going to do it on their own

What are the sales splits for a non-GP game? PS has been beating Xbox in hardware 2:1 since launch, now 3:1. What is the % of PS vs Xbox? I'd say 70% is probably a very low guess at this point. I'd guess closer to 75-80 if not even more.

If you turn off crossplay on an Xbox, you get so few games.

From what I can find the PS5 has about a 20% lead over Xbox in the US, this is Xbox's strongest market so it's 60% to 40% in favor of PlayStation 5. As far as individual game sales though that's hard to find, there have been COD games that sold twice as many copies on PlayStation but 82% was never a thing before it went to Gamepass.

Those big console sales leads are global but the US is the place where Xbox does its best.

Satya only cares about money, if Xbox had been making enough money he would have left it alone.

As far as GP yeah that's been the issue the whole time, why pay for games when you can basically rent them? the problem is it costs money to add games to the service and it took 3-4 months of payments depending on the pricing just to get the amount of money from one customer that they would have gotten from a single game purchase.

The Activision purchase sped this up but it was always going to happen.

Yes game pass would definitely be $30 without Activision

Its ok to be wrong sometimes

Course not but again everything's gone up anyways. Nintendo and Sony haven't raised prices because of the Activision deal.

There's no way it is that close. PS has been beating Xbox 2:1 since launch, and now the numbers are 3:1. This is going on 5 years now, there's never been a time this gen where Xbox did well. It isn't like there was even a 6 months stretch where Xbox hardware did well. There's no way it has been 60/40.

As much as I hate to say it, I don't think there are many Xboxes out there. I buy multiplayer games on PS now because of it.

I expected GP to eventually go up in price but not this much. It went from being the best deal in gaming for me to pricing me out the service.

People acting like it’s just MS with the problem is stupid though.

Prices are going up across entertainment and will keep going up. This gaming hobby and tv/movie/sports watching is getting f***ing expensive.

To all the Xbox gamers upset it's simple. Cancel and start buying. They have around a thousand games on sale every week or you can probably get them cheaper on disc(well a fake disc in many cases).
I always get a couple years worth of what's now core anyways so I'm good for a couple years.

Most of MS game pass subs come from console so it would be suicidal to kill that group.

I have a wish list on the MS store games go on sale regularly for $5-$20.

THIS. Buy and start supporting devs. Stop the waiting for to go on GP crap.

I'm sure there's a very hardcore 15 million XBOX die hards that MS is trying to cater to still but Gamepass has conditioned many of its users to stop buying period. Doesn't bode well for the expensive development cycles game have these days.

I'm talking in the US, there was a short period early on where Xbox seemed to sell better than PS5 because Sony couldn't get the inventory in. Regardless of the total number PS5 isn't going to be 82% and xbox 18% in the United States.

Why only mention Game Pass and Not PS Plus? And you brag about waiting for games to go on sale. Why wait? Pay full price so they get more profits and revenue…..

Because PS plus didn't condition its users to not buy games, especially first party ones that directly support the company's game studios.

I mention trade ins physically for my games and even with the sales on physical copies , you support the devs way more that way because whatever retailer I bought it from like Amazon, GameStop already paid whatever price to import that into their inventory.
