That’s right, I actually forgot the whole reason I bought one was because trade in values jumped up!
Heads up the values still haven’t gone down for anyone with a PS5 that’s considering upgrading
5.5 pffft, in California it’s minimum 7.25, as high as 10.75. If I want electronics with less sales tax I have to drive to a different Best BuyNow, the PS5 Pro does NOT come with a disc drive. The disc drive is $79.99. $899.99+$79.99 = $979.98. Plus tax (5.5%) of $53.89 = $1,033.87 USD to buy a PS5 Pro with disc drive.

Definitely a cult following. The first took a while to sell more units until it got really cheap too.
In current pricing conditions, the Pro has amazing value before the price hike (and an argument can be made for it after as well).
