Then how can you claim "best so far"? Seems to me the only claim you can make is that PS4 has sold X number of units, and we don't know how many units X1 has sold, though (presumably) it's less, since MS would probably want to mention that they'd sold more games than Sony if it were indeed true.

Not to get all anal on you, I just really dislike claims to truth which aren't substantiated better.

Well, US is where MS is the strongest and it only had a difference of ~600k units (4.8 million vs 4.2 million of Sony's). And with Sony announcing 9.7 million total worldwide, I highly doubt MS could sell more than 4.9 million.

As mentioned, PS4 is the fastest selling WW, and Xbox One is the fastest selling in NA.

No cherry picking. Just the facts.
For the hundredth time that's IMPOSSIBLE as the PS4 sold over 1 million in 24 hours/NA the X1 didn't.
Anything else in the face of this reality is spinning the fact.

It's actually not impossible, it's really simple math:

Xbox One: 1.8m / 40 = 45k daily average
PlayStation 4: 2.0m / 47 = 43K daily average

Daily average pace for Xbox One is higher than PS4's.

Therefore, Xbox One is selling faster than PS4 (per NPD results).

Ah, so you don't know. Got it.

Thanks!

Anyway congrats to MS for solid X1 sales especially after all of the initial adversity(bad press 180's etc) and the ($500 X1/$60 a year XBL) price tags.
:eek:Would you look at that?!

You said fastest selling are we changing our wording now?
Daily averages I never spoke on.
I just know the record breaking numbers the PS4 did in NA/24 hours made it the fastest selling.

Me defending what is right when it comes to formats I enjoy and seeing and predicting PS4 success doesn't make me a troll.
Yaw are lucky I don't promote my fav format.(the pc)

Don't try and explain simple math to them. They don't get it or just don't want to hear it. All they hear is the PS4 is in the lead by 1.2 million. They ignore the facts unless it suits their argument.

My statement was more of a response to Intellivision's claim that xbox one will have the best software sales and indicated that it's currently not the case since 9.7 million was already announced by Sony for the PS4. If MS was close to it or have surpassed that like you said, there would've been an announcement since we all know how they want as much victories as possible, yeah? Both you and I don't have the confirmed software sales number for the Xbox One but we do have the PS4's so I'm technically not wrong. Feel free to prove otherwise though and I'll gladly accept and concede my mistake.

If you want a shooter system, PS4 has you covered. You can ut those redesigned DS4 shooter triggers to good use. Even excluded from the list are Blacklight and Warframe for extra shooter fun.

s***! Did RYSE sell more than KZ possibly? Looks as if it may have. Pretty damned impressive none-the-less if I do say so myself. WOOT!

Someone filled in this pie chart that is almost 100% similar to the one creamsugar posted.

If it's close these are the numbers:

Xbox one 909k
Ps4 900k
360 643k
Wii u 480k
PS3 299k
Wii 150k

This also aligns with MS making up 46% of the hardware market and 54% for sony/Nintendo as reported by NPD.

That's just it - you can't claim you're not technically wrong, because you don't know for a fact one way or the other - and that's my only contention, bro. I don't disagree that it's likely... but we don't know, and you claimed that Sony's sold more software, which is a claim to knowledge you cannot back up with facts. Having the facts from one side along with some evidence of numbers from the other doesn't make your statement true. It implies that it's true, but it's a fact. Not yet. We need the data, and we don't have it.

I think the safest thing to say is simply that Sony's likely sold more software at this point, and probably be a similar ratio as the number as their WW console sale victory.

I can agree with this.

My initial post was just to say that intellivision's of Xbox one potential best software sales is not true either.

But yeah, I can change my statement to the PS4 is more likely to have the best software sales to date than the Xbox one worldwide.

As far as attach rate goes, we know Xbox One is leading PS4 here in NA, so it's possible that's the story world-wide... but in any case, I think it's safe to say that X1's portfolio of titles has resonated better with NA than PS4's (higher attach rate, and more total software sold even with LESS total consoles sold).

...and that lends credibility to the claims I and others have made that X1's portfolio of games is better. :-)

EDIT: Some numbers from GAF which look correct:

XB1 US LTD: 909+908 = 1817
1,817,000/40 = 45,425 sold per day (average)

PS4 US LTD: 1138+858 = 1996
1,996,000/47 = 42,468 sold per day (average)

Software
XB1 Total: 4800
XB1 1st/2nd Party: 1500
XB1 3rd Party: 3300

PS4 Total: 4200
PS4 1st/2nd Party: 600
PS4 3rd Party: 3600

Tie Ratio
XB1 Total: 2.64
XB1 1st/2nd Party: 0.82
XB1 3rd Party: 1.82

PS4 Total: 2.10
PS4 1st/2nd Party: 0.30
PS4 3rd Party: 1.80

Definitely a better attach rate for Microsoft's console.

WOW PS4 almost did 2 million units in the US. How is that possible? the PS4 was hard to find from launch day till the end of December.

It looks like we've got a repeat of last gen. Whether the Xbox One sells more than the PS4 or not it just has a better attach rate. Microsoft has a stranglehold on the market. People might ask why's that? It's simple, Xbox Live still beats PSN. The Xbox One's controller is still preferred over the DS4. Even though the controller is much better this time around for Sony's machine.

Facts are facts and from what i'm seeing the Xbox brand is still the go to all around brand. The first on Xbox Call of Duty DLC. That franchise isn't going anywhere people and it's still the most popular today. The Xbox brand is all about growth. Microsoft is growing their brand while Sony is holding on hoping that there's a slice of pie left moving forward. Microsoft is taking over the living room.

Not really, you just had to go to an actual retail store to pick one up.

Yep. Funny people keep saying its hard to find despite sales showing millions have got hold of one in uch a short spae of time.

It is hard to find, whenever new stock came it was purchased very quickly.

I don't know where you live but I couldn't find/saw one in-stock here in Los Angles or Orange County during the holidays. If it was in-stock everywhere, then why was the PS4 going for $100+ more than retail price on eBay during the holidays? I'm sure I remembered someone here posted an article that the PS4 sold twice the amount of units than X1 on eBay.

Have you seen the stock checker site below? 16,000+ replies (peeps looking for a PS4) for the PS4 compared to 2,500 replies for X1.

I was constantly at http://www.zoolert.com/videoconsoles/playstation-4/trackers/ during the month of December looking for a PS4 for a friend and if it was in stock, it sold out pretty quickly.

Dude the PS4 was on the front page on slickdeals.com which is crazy (it's not supposed too since it's MSRP).
