They did nothing for them when they released there last time lol.

BD helped sell over 200,000 and LO 100,000 in Japan which in sure MS would take right now.
Hell get another The Last Remnant and it could sell out again every week for a month.

Would definitely buy sequels for those games.

When was the last time they greenlit a sequel to a game that only sold 200k copies though?

Shortage of PS5 supply until 2022 apparently. Not enough to meet demand.

Despite a global chip shortage, PlayStation’s boss said on Wednesday that the company has managed to produce and sell a record number of PS5 consoles.

However, overwhelming demand for the console means PS5 won’t be readily available for some time yet.

“We’ve built more PlayStations faster than we ever have before which makes me happy. But on the other hand, we’re some time from being able to meet all the demand that’s out there, which makes me feel bad,” Ryan told Reuters.

“Our partners are performing really well for us, but the chip shortage is definitely a challenge that we are all navigating.”

In a separate Famitsu interview, Ryan was asked if he thinks PS5 availability will improve by the end of this year.

“We know that it’s still difficult for gamers to get PS5, and we’re very sorry about that,” he responded.

“There are signs that things are loosening up a bit, but we still have a lot of work to do.”

Sony claimed on Wednesday that PS5 has become its fastest selling console ever after topping 10 million sales globally.

The console reached the milestone in mid-July, about eight months after its launch, and just under a month faster than the PS4 managed.

“While PS5 has reached more households faster than any of our previous consoles, we still have a lot of work ahead of us as demand for PS5 continues to outstrip supply,” Ryan said.

“I want gamers to know that while we continue to face unique challenges throughout the world that affect our industry and many others, improving inventory levels remains a top priority for SIE.”

Xbox Game Studio's Minecraft still printing money and moving back up the ranks. Ratchet has left the room......

Minecraft and GTA are the biggest games around right now. Just absolute money makers.

Not surprised they are still selling considering the number of platforms they are on.

Rift Apart is only sold on 1 platform that released 9 months ago.

Having said that, it's on pace to do well if Miles is any predictor of success. It's already at 1.1 million+ 1 month after launch. Right now approximately every 1 in 10 PS5 owner bought Rift Apart. I predict that number will increase.

Doesn't matter how many consoles it's on it still selling like it does is incredible and to think people criticised MS for how much they purchased it for.

Rift could be on all those platforms and would still be lucky to top £15m

They are the biggest game on physical format. Many big games like Fortnite, Genshin impact, Candy crush, Clash of clans, LOL are not on the list as they are not sold physically.

Codemasters' F1 2021 has held the No.1 spot for a second week, despite a 42% decline in sales week-over-week.

It was a strong week for Nintendo titles; The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD claimed second place once more, and is nowhere close to being overthrown despite a 44% drop in sales.

Additionally, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe moved up two places to No.3 after a 14% uptick in sales, and it is followed closely by fellow Switch giant Animal Crossing: New Horizons at No.4, which enjoyed an 18% increase in sales.

One title to enter the top ten last week was Sega's Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 - The Official Video Game, no doubt driven by the beginning of the actual Olympic Games in the final week of July. The title, which was released in July 2019, saw a 55% increase in sales, primarily driven by PS4 units.

While not making the top 10, Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games 2020 also saw a sizeable rise in sales inspired by the Olympics; a 65% increase pushed the title up to No.17.

Making its chart debut at No.10 was Square Enix's Neo: The World Ends With You, which released July 27. Sales for the title were also largely attributed to the Switch, with 63% of its launch week units purchased for the console.

Another strong title in the Square Enix camp is Marvel's Avengers, which moved up another five places to No.13 following a 71% uptick in sales.

Further down the charts, Nintendo's Ring Fit Adventure, in at No.20, saw a 40% increase in sales, and Luigi's Mansion 3, in No.24, saw a 31% uptick in sales. Neither of the games were discounted on the eshop.

The largest increase in the top 40 for last week was Plants Vs. Zombies: Battle For Neighborville. EA's backyard brawler saw a 195% jump in units shifted, with 85% of those sold on the Switch.

Ratchet And Clank: Rift Apart, which sat at No.3 the week prior, is now way down at No.40 following an 87% decline in sales week-on-week. The title does seem to enjoy a spike every time a new batch of PS5s is released however, so it's likely to shoot up again in good time.

It's basically a case of the UK got a nice dump of consoles last week while MS got hardly any Series Xs out.

Both companies really should have a steady flow coming now.

Not until 2022 as per Sony.

MS wants to push the XSS more so makes sense there are more XSS sitting on shelves.

Sony is obviously marketing. Otherwise there wouldn't be any selling.

Though they continue to sell out, which is good. MS isn't pushing one over the other. It is just what's available to them as far as chips go for building them. They are in the same boat as Sony.

No wonder The Outer Worlds 2 (Xbox exclusive) is coming out. They sold 4 million so far for the first one. Obsidian is on fire.

Or they really are in a shortage as per the limited number of consoles on both sides.

There are more XSS in stores, that's either because more supply of it is pushed out or there is less demand.

More supply because they get pushed out, then sold and pushed out again. Even the Walmart one below is a bundle only at $374.00.
