For me:

Game of the generation: The Last of Us (PS3)
Runner up: Tomb Raider (multi)

Most played game: Assassin's Creed 3 (multi)
Runner up: Black Ops 2 (multi)

Favorite gaming moment: Playing Rock Band with a bunch of friends
Runner up: Playing a kiddie dance game on Kinect vs. a friend...while drunk.

For me:

Game of the generation: Batman Arkham Asylum (Xbox 360)
Runner up: Street Fighter 4 (Xbox 360)

Most played game: Call of Duty: Black Ops II (Xbox 360)
Runner up: Street Fighter 4 (Xbox 360)

This generation isnt dead. GT 6 in december, MGS 5 and FF 13-2 next year.

But the best game for me would have to be Last of Us and GTAV.

Gears of War series, I hope they make a nice comeback next gen. Gears 1 MP was the first MP game I really got into and I think that disk stayed in my xbox for a year straight.

All the Call of Duty's, played a lot of MP, Black Ops 2 and the first Modern Warefare the most

To many good games to list but I will list a couple I really enjoyed that might not have received the best reviews.

Alice Madness Returns
Splatterhouse
Dantes Inferno

I'm not much for ranking stuff.. but my "games of the generation" and even more specifically:

Rainbow Six Vegas 1/2 Terrorist Hunt
Bethesda RPG's
Gears of War 2 Horde Mode
Borderlands
Crackdown

If I had to give it to one game.. it'd be Borderlands.

Fallout 3 as my definite favourite.

Followed by the other Bethseda RPGs, Dead Island and the Gears and Uncharted series.
Oh and the 3 Mass Effects.

GTA V
Mass Effect 1
Lost Odyssey
Alan Wake
Uncharted 2
Crackdown

And that outsider Catherine.

Fallout 3
Fallout New Vegas
Lost Odyssey
Borderlands
Bioshock
Assassin's Creed series (definitely my most played series this generation)

I feel like I'm forgetting a lot, but these stand out to me.

Last edited:
single player: Red Dead, GTA V, Borderlands 2, the batman games, Saints Row games.

Multiplayer: GRAW, GRAW 2, Bad company 1 and 2, BF3

I've realized that I really like open world games when it comes to single player experiences haha. Really hope for a lot more this gen.

TNA iMpact!
Rayman Origins
LotR: War in the North
Nin2-Jump

Halo 3: ODST

Lots of games for runner-up but there's been a ton that I've played. Just a great generation in general, but everytime I think about it, BL tops my list every time. Very rare to experience a world as unique and fleshed out in Brutal Legend. Just seeing all the crazy monuments and heavy metal landscapes just really made me feel like this was a album cover come alive. The action RTS gameplay really hooked me as well, loved all the strategy and variety involved, but the story kept me coming back. I don't think I've played any other game as much as BL.

Some of my favorite games this gen i can think of...

Also, I'm not even done with this generation. Too many unplayed games and some haven't even come out yet. South Park: Stick of Truth is hands down my most anticipated game of 2014.

The Orange Box

First time this has popped up in this thread. That's one of the titles I forgot. I really hope we see something along the lines of The Orange Box whenever HL3 releases.

Red Dead Redemption was probably my single all time favorite game on the 360. GTA V is right there but there was just a "wow" factor with RDR, especially that ending.

Left4Dead 1 & 2 were pretty great, and seemed to be the only game that all of my friends were down to play anytime.

Yep, if I had to pick a favorite game, that may be it (note: I never played HL2 before that box).
