Saying "Black lives matter" is not controversial! *rant*

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that Cleburne, Texas was named after a brother who wanted to marry his own sister but was told no, so he went off and founded his own town.

It is hilarious how many people troll them into counter protesting against nothing.

Is Arkanas somewhat more racist than most places? Because it was f***ing crazy how openly racist those people were. What's nearly as bad is that one person who supported him was so afraid to even voice their opinion and just handed him a letter.

The further south and south west you go from New York the more racist it gets. Also follow the same direction and the worse the education gets. In Florida, the more south you go the less racist it gets.

Ever since Trump, the racists have gotten bolder. I'm in New York state and I've seen people with white power symbols on their trucks driving around (and driving around in some neighborhoods where that is not smart). I was shocked, and was sure I was seeing it wrong, but I wasn't.

They've always been out there, they just at least knew to keep that stuff quiet.

How come with the "All Lives Matter" crew, they don't also believe that all votes matter?
I'm sure they think all votes matter exactly the same way that they think all lives matter, though - just that, in both cases, some don't matter enough to count.

So in the past couple of days I've lost Facebook friends (lol), a personal friend and had some hard nearly in tears conversations with my gf and members of her family.

If your response to "black lives matter' is the absent minded rebuttal "well...all lives matter." You are either being willfully ignorant or you just don't get it!

For much of history in the western world black lives have NOT mattered. In the USA there has never been a point where whites, asians, or Latinos have been systematically opposed and persecuted. The closest analogy is native Americans in America and they aren't even being choked out and killed in the street by police.

Yes ALL lives matter, but the difference is is that for most of history black lives have not mattered and even today some people think they don't matter.

It's like people who say 'all lives matter not just black lives' are forgetting which race has been persecuted and is still being profiled!!!

f***ing ridiculous logic!
Anyway that is my rant! Shout out to Ashton Kutcher and Seth Rogen for standing up to the 'all lives matter' trolls on twitter. Bunch of respect for those two!

It's strange, I heard this story about this African from a poor country that said he was afraid to come to America because the "black people were being killed in the streets". What was the likelihood that he would have been shot dead by a police officer if he came to America?

He might have missed out on a chance at a better life here because he thought he would be killed by police.

What does the actual data say?

Not anecdotal evidence.

The statistics would suggest that black people are racially profiled or targeted more by police. Black people are more likely to be killed by police in terms of percentages, but the likelihood that one individual in particular will be killed by police is extremely low.

Ultimately, the economics issues that cause black people to come into contact with officers more are only going to get worse as wealth calcifies at the top. This is something that the national leadership of black lives matter shied away from. And now because "defunding the police" hurt democrats that movement is going away (eventual media blackout) and funding will dry up.

I say all this to say, why ruin your personal relationships over Black Lives Matter? That movement didn't really do anything to help black people. Why throw away the people you chose to live your life with over a movement that didn't really do anybody any good?

Lol. Ok, dude.

See, I don't like that. How long have you guys all been here? You still feel like you can't have these sort of difficult discussions? I could see if you two went for a while and then you gave up but you quit kinda early.

It’s the race it keeps happening to in America. A big majority of white America thinks nothing is wrong and get uncomfortable when black people force the issues into the open. I mean players couldn’t even peacefully protest in the NFL without white American turning into something else. I’ve seen what has went on in my area and State to black people for decades. Black Lives Do Matter and I hope those white people that don’t understand that get it through their heads someday.

I remember getting yelled at for not paying attention when the pledge came on and remaining seated for a few seconds, lol. When did it stop being considered disrespectful not to stand with your hand on your heart for the pledge of allegiance? Cause Colin spoke to a marine that said it was ok?

um refused to let an arab family, who had their son killed by the police, take part and speak at the rally because the rally was only to denounce racism against black people.

Even when they had a unity rally for the people killed at the Kosher market mass shooting in Jersey city (there were a lot of BLM activists there) nobody got up and said anything about black people being killed by police. It would have been considered a slap in the face to the Jewish community.

The fact that this Arab family didn't know enough not to do that shows that they couldn't care less about what the protest was about. Was it supposed to be ok because they weren't white? 😄

Seems to me like some people use their language or cultural barrier as an excuse for bad behavior.

I'd say Asian Americans have had some s***ty spells too (see Manzanar) but everyone else is definitely playing for second and anyone who doesn't see that can go f*** themselves with a porcupine
I think Native American's probably get top billing.
